Anyone else having an issue with Google Maps?

Hi all,

When I open Google Maps, and try to type in the search field there is no response. There's also no response when I tap on the icons below in the "Explore nearby" section. The map itself responds to pan, and zoom. But when I even try to swipe up to close it, there's no response. What I have to do is go to the home screen, and then swiping it up will close it.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Running March 5 update. Maps search and nearby works fine for me. Do you have location turned on?

Right before reading your response I allowed location only for the Maps app, and it's now working. I didn't realize that I needed to have that turned on since I have it off for the phone itself. I'm guessing they are two different sets of instructions.
