Brightness Issue in Netflix

I've been watching Netflix and I've noticed that when adjusting the brightness, it doesn't seem to work. If i try to make it brighter, it remains the same. If I reduce the brightness it will eventually dim it a bit but it's a sudden dim, like it's bright then dim, no in between. So it seems like there's only two brightness levels. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. I already wiped data/cache and uninstalled/reinstalled the app. It's not a huge issue but sucks on shows with really dark scenes where I normally turn up the brightness a bit.

Try changing this setting to boost

I do have that enabled but it hasnt changed anything. Even the front screen doesn't adjust the brightness. When I try to manually adjust it via the notification bar, it states that it's already being controlled by the current app and cannot be adjust. I'll wait to see if there's an update to Netflix.

No issues with me either with Netflix.. I'm watching a show now. you can also tap the screen and raise the brightness during watch.

Here's my build

Have you tried uninstall and reinstall of the app?

Checked routines to make sure nothing was set?

Powersavings, etc.?

Hope you figure it out

Yeah, done all of it. Even wiped cache partition but still no luck. I'll just wait for an update that fixes it.

That's crazy going back to non beta of the app and still having the issue
Let's see if the next update fixes it.

Hi, I also have the same issue with the Netflix android app, any updates on fixes? I use a Google Pixel 7 pro and when using the Netflix app, the brightness bar only work up to half way then the brightness doesn't increase anymore. I also notice a change of the color saturation of the image. When increasing the in-app netflix brightness bar a little bit more than halfway, the colors of the video increase in saturation slightly.

I tried uninstalling the app, trying installing previous versions of the app, looked into my phone's display settings, power saving settings, I even tried some fixes on the developers option but no dice. I saw some people talking about something to do with Netflix's app HDR options but I can't find it anywhere in the settings

Using WiFi or my internet data result in the same issue and only Netflix does that, it's super annoying and I'm gutted to have to watch some shows with this issue.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem but has anyone found a way to fix this?

Thanks

I am having a similar problem with a different program. XTREMEhD Iptv

I wonder if there is something else behind the scenes happening.

Netflix is doing the same thing to me, but the screen is already bright enough.

did you tried before to change brightness in Netflix itself? Tap screen while TV show or movie is playing and try to Slide the brightness indicator up or down to increase or decrease brightness.
