Anyone else having bluetooth-headset sound quality issues with the ONE?

Austin, I'm not sure I follow you with regards to ROM rankings? One seems the best, one is a bit better, and yet another seems the best? Please clarify...

Sorry about that. Please keep in mind that this was not scientific in any way and purely my subjective opinion based on leaving myself voice-mails and calling friends/family for their feedback.

I basically grouped the ROMs into 3 categories, Sense-based, AOSP/AOKP based, and CyanogenMod based. Of the Sense based, CleanROM was the best sounding for me. Of the AOSP, none really stood out but all were better than the sense based ROMs. And then finally, I only tried the CM nightlies but the few I tried were the best quality of them all. I have no idea why this would be but I did read somewhere that CM upped there "bluetooth spool" above what was in the base google code which supposedly increased the audio quality of bluetooth streamed music. No idea if that has anything to do with bluetooth headsets and outgoing voice quality.

Again, this was all subjective by my ears and those of my friends/family. You may find the opposite is true. I would say, if you're comfortable with ADB/Fasboot/RUU's, it's worth trying out a few ROMs to see if any improve your headset voice quality.

Would you still consider the problem resolved? Are you still happy with the call quality using bluetooth? What carrier are you using? Does that make a difference?
I just got a HTC one m8 and was planning on using bluetooth as I will be making alot of calls from it and want to be hands free. Now I am wondering if I should take it back and get a Samsung S5. Anyone know if bluetooth works better there? Frustrated, but still have a few options as I can still exchange within the 14 day window. Any advice out there?

I have a Motorola Elite Sliver. I have used this Bluetooth device with several phones with the same problem. Transmit audio is high and distorted. Turning off the Enhanced Voice Privacy helps but still sounds raspy. After searching the web for answers and not finding any I decided to fix the problem myself. This may sound stupid but I took a piece of scotch tape just big enough to cover 3/4 of the ear piece and placed it in the center of the ear piece. This dropped the TX audio down to a level that I am told sounds great. The RX audio does not seem to be effected. I hope this works for you. Let me know your results.
