Anyone else less than enthusiatic bout HTC One coming to VZW?

I'm indifferent about the ONE coming. I wish I could buy the damn thing, but I do love my dna. Also, If my phone never gets updated, I'll be Ok. My phone works amazing now, why does it need to be updated? I've never understood why people get so upset if they don't get an update they're never promised or owed in the first place. And it only happens with phones (for the most part). I mean does anyone get upset when ford doesn't update their interior after a year? Or when Sony doesn't update parts in their tv when new ones come out? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I understand the point, but we've never been sold a TV or car that even hinted at supporting upgrades or new items, whereas cell phone carriers have always enticed consumers with the (sometimes) suggestion & (sometimes) promise that the phones could/would be upgraded with new software releases.

I've had my phone for about a month. The One doesn't interest me at all. I don't like the silver aluminum, and I don't like the placement of the buttons on the bottom. I haven't had sim issues and find this phone almost perfect for me.

They have somewhat, yes. It reminds me of a chicken and egg type argument. Do they hint at updates because consumers voice that they want them? Or do consumers voice that they want them because they have been hinted at? haha

I hope the ONE does come to Verizon so my wife and I will have two of the best phones on the market.

Sorry osu I edited my post after you quoted it. I always like hearing your advice, you think the one will be better? I'm not sure I like metal phones, seems like they'd be cold and . . well . . cold =)

Well seems like none of us will have a chance to check it out on Verizon, but my reasoning for waiting was that the ONE essentially has all the bells and whistles the DNA has, but yet they are fancier and shinier bells and whistles haha. Shame it won't come to Verizon, however it's understandable since HTC and Verizon put so much money into developing the DNA.

The ONE isn't coming to Verizon...but I have a sneaky suspicion that the DNA+ is coming with eerily similar specs to the ONE.

Depends on which story you read. Walmart has the ONE replacing the DNA. Only time will tell.

If you remember, when the ONE first launched, there was a red HTC ONE on HTC's website, after word started getting around about it and HTC was asked about it, they pulled it from their website and said it was not yet available.

Yes but they probably won't call it a One. They will have a Droid name for it...I'm guessing DNA+

If Pandora is acting up then you need to go in the Playstore and submit feedback to their support team. It's not Verizon or HTCs fault if an app from someone has a bug in it, nor is it their problem to fix. I do this all the time with apps that I think could run better and for the most part get questions back to narrow down the problem and then an update is usually out in a week or so. One of my favorite was the Chive's app, two updates ago they had right in there "bug fixes for HTC phones".

As an old Sprint customer that had the first 3 Evos I'm not used to a newer better phone coming out but I welcome it. It makes me think that when it's time for me to upgrade that I'll be able to get the latest HTC flagship. Apple and Samsung have great plans, limit the number of devices (Apple 1, Samsung 2) you advertise for and make them on different carriers. That way a commercial is good for multiple carriers. When HTC does a commercial for the DNA no EVO or One X owners feel pride, only the verizon DNA owners do. When samsung does a GS3 commercial Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, they all get it. HTC should focus on two models each year. They could have different cases but they should still be called the same name to strengthen the brand identity. Why does a Verizon DNA have to look the same as a Sprint DNA (if they had one)?

Anyway the point is the DNA is still a great phone sure it has its problem like the sim (only had this problem twice, removing it and reinserting seemed to fix it for me) but it does everything I need it to and it does them well, for me the phone works perfectly.

Love the looks of the dna better than the One . . have a vzw upgrade ready to go . . so if the dna+ materializes with a little better battery, a little more storage, and no "sim card" issues I think I'll be a pretty happy camper =)

Actually buying a One after owning a DNA is a lateral move, and you go smaller in screen size. While the One is a beautiful phone it is in no way superior than the DNA. If you want Sense 5 so bad we could just root the DNA but to be honest the DNA is the best device out there right now and its just as good as a S4 or the One from a spec standpoint. In fact I don't even think the One has wireless charging so its a step back really.

Same here, nothing like those red racing stripes down the sides of our phones, looks like my wife will have to be happy with me getting her an S3 (which she said she would be, because I just bought her a brand new diamond ring yesterday), and I'd hate to have to part with my DNA lol.

With or without the one coming to Verizon, you won't be getting the support you desire.

Sense 5 is amazing. Running a sense 5 based rom right now. It and 4.1.2 are simply awesome together. If I had a choice between a stock dna and a stock One, I would take the One just because of sense 5. So much nicer than 4+

I've documented several issues people are seeing with the wifi/network stack, this has been reported to pandora, slacker, sirrux and HTC
The problem appears to reside in the phone, the recent update did not rectify it. And as phone issues are some see it some don't, for people who see issues this or sim card they can be very frustrating for a premium phone.
