Anyone else returning their Note 20 Ultras?

I ended up returning my Note 20 Ultra. I felt like I had to gimp the phone too much to get decent battery life (turn off 120Hz, turn off all location access, turn down the brightness, etc.) and the trade-offs weren't worth it. I don't know what happened, but the battery life was terrible. I was able to sell my accessories to those who wanted them.

I am back on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I didn't have to compromise battery life on this phone and I didn't have to gimp my iPhone to get good battery life.
That sucks. I am not having those issues and I'm running 120 and not dining the screen, just have to set to auto. So far so good for me

Early on new devices need time to settle in and you need to adjust settings to get great battery life. Like I have said before I have chargers everywhere so I don't worry about battery life in the last four years.

No. I had to turn off everything and I was still getting bad battery life. I don't want a phone that does that.

You and others are lucky. My brother's Note 20 Ultra is draining battery too. He's not happy with it either. Maybe the 5G modem eats a lot of power?

After nearly a week, the Note 20 Ultra is a keeper. I like the bigger screen, the buttons being on the right seem more natural. Beautiful colors and resolution. Super speedy and decent battery. What's not to like : )

I love my N20U and will keep it alongside my Note 20, Note 10+, and S20U. I love the huge squared display of the N20U and it's battery life. I've tried the 120hz refresh but just don't notice the difference so I keep it at 1080P and 60hz and enjoy the battery life.

Nope, not sending this phone back...no way.

Should try turning 5g off

Yeah, I should've done that. But it's too late. I'm on Verizon and the nearest 5G coverage area is a couple miles away in downtown Minneapolis. I was never going to be down there now that no one is working down there.

C'est la vie.

I'm testing it off , even though I get good battery life just seems to go lot faster , I'm on Tmobile and 5g everywhere by me .

Agreed. I say the same every year. This is the reason Bestbuy added restocking fees to their devices(opinion of course).
This thread is a bit frustrating. People who have legit issues I understand, those things happen with every phone. Sometime you get a lemon.

But it's frustrating seeing people want to return their phones for things they were aware of before purchase. Basically every variant is back ordered, people are still waiting on their devices and yet we have people buying phones they aren't even sure they want and making people who actually want it wait. Pretty selfish.

I heard 120hz is driving point for most of the folks. Didn't that convince you?

120Hz is way over rated considering the extra battery juice it requires. I was excited about it when I got my S20 and then I stopped using after seeing how much juice it ate up. I ended up getting regular Note 20. That's how much I care about 120Hz, but to each their own.

That's right, to each their own. 120 is not overrated IMO. Problem is most people think it's going to be faster. It's smoother scrolling and what not.

Nope it's a keeper. It is faster but that 120 does eat up a lot of the battery. I am just hoping the battery doesn't get worst over time.

For folks that are having battery drain issues...I wonder what apps are running in the background and if those apps are running by intention.

I absolutely love the phone and the cameras. I couldn't have asked for more. But if the battery doesn't improve then people should be able to return if it performs poorly. There were no full reports on battery before it was released so how are people to know?

I think the general consensus was that the Exynos 990 version would be the battery talking point, not the Snapdragon 865+ version.
Looking at both varients there seems to be mixed reports for both when it comes to battery usage but obviously Exynos users will have to take more measures to eke out more life.

True but even on exynos 3.5 to 4 hours SOT is horrible.
