Anyone else see the irony...

8/23 :-) Swype 1.61.37.8214 / Hulu / Flash Zip Added! - xda-developers
Download the 1.60 version, imo it's more accurate than the .61 beta

Just a warning.. I posted a link to a Swype Beta link back in June and got slapped on the wrist and had the post removed by the MOD's your not suppose to post links to what is an unofficial copy of Swype... They will tell you to sign up for the official beta...

It's best to just say "Google Swype for Android" and eventually if your looking hard enough you will find an unofficial file out there....

Not long after I got slapped I got the official Swype beta invite... I love Swype specially how it remembers words you enter... Like EVO... Once you manually type it once and then hit space it remembers it to the dictionary... There are a few things that I have learned not to Swype because it pulls up random $hit...

Just got the Swype and i think that its really easy to use. I might try to get used to that one.

thanks again for the link, hopefully you dont get in trouble. I dont see why you would...or should.

Because it's an invite only private beta?

Because to get it you have to sign up for it and get it directly from Swype.. The file you get are probably from some one who got the beta and gave it out... Eventually Swype will cost some thing and the Beta's will become worthless..

I would happily pay for Swype... I tested it on an HD2 and loved it.. When I got my Nexus One I signed up for the Beta (in March or April) and didn't "Officially" get the Beta from Swype until late June.. After a month of signing up for the Beta I Googled "Swype for Android" and if you looked hard enough you can find it..

But you have to be careful of exactly which file you download.. The first unofficial one I got was a 1 week trial version and stopped working after a week and I had to go hunting for it again...

Thanks for the heads up. I removed the link.
I'm gonna sign up for the beta.

I'm gonna sign up for the beta.

Welcome... and yes Swype is awesome.. I had an unofficial copy before I got the Beta invite... I have no problem playing for Swype if they stated to sell it but waiting around MONTHS for the Beta was getting old...

I think I waited on the official beta for 4+ months... When I got the e-mail/invite to the beta I had almost forgot I signed up for it. :D it had been so long and I was all ready using it...

XDA is a great place to find some crazy stuff...

Auto correct was a problem for me. Going right along, not paying attention to its suggestions, just pressing the accept thing knowing it was the right suggestion and goodness, it came up with "trivia" instead of "tricia."

Swype simply needs to come stock on all Android phones in my opinion.

I too would have no issue at all paying for a official copy of Swype on the market. I really don't think that is going to be their business model though. I think they are going to keep with the manufacturer exclusivity business model... Which is no fun in my opinion.

I'm in the closed beta for Swype and I can see why they don't have it available on the Market yet. It's get wonky every once in a while, not sure if that's the same for people that have it pre-installed on their phone or not.

Swype is great but it can be "Wonky" at times.... I think it's funny how certain words it throws out there for simple words... I have been using Swype since I would say April and there are just certain words I have given up on trying to Swype and manually type them in.... It's a heck of a lot easier that way.. and those certain words I have tried over and over and over and slower and slower and more deliberate and it still gets them wrong.... But then there are words I am 100% sure I Swyped wrong and it gets it right.....

overall I think Swype is about 90% accurate and a heck of a lot faster than manually typing on a virtual keyboard.... With out Swype I might rather have a physical keyboard....

I seem to be typing faster without using Swype :(
