Many times while I'm on WiFi I will get a no network notice on facebook and android forums (two apps I use the most) and sometimes on 4g too. Right now I'm at mcdonalds on their WiFi enjoying lunch with the family and this is what I got when I tried to check my data usage. I had full bars of WiFi but no internet access. My mom beside me is using their WiFi flawlessly.

Now that you mention it no. Before the update it would turn off randomly, but after the update it works flawlessly

My experience is the opposite. Worked fine until the last update. Now it disconnects when not in use. Once connected it works fine, though.

I have noticed that my wifi turns off when the phone is asleep for a while as well.

I still get frequent wifi issues even after taking ota, with messages indicating I have no wifi or 4g connection. Reconnects quickly but ever so annoying. Just learned to live with it at this point as nothing (phone resets, new router system, etc) seems to have fixed it. Whenit bothers me enough, I will ask for a replacement (on second phone with same problem already).

I had the WiFi issue before the update and I thought the update solved it but a few weeks later and I'm having the same issues but worse.

Try the browser instead of an app
You may need to recommit to the WiFi terms and conditions

I notice it will disconnect from wifi when i turn the screen off after using certain apps, but only wifi, mobile no problems, and started happening after update.

It seems my phone only has problems connecting to public or nonsecured networks.

There are on 'some phones' a significant wifi issue with connect/reconnect. You can view some of my earlier posts on this. 3 DNAs (three separate accounts) all with the same issue, note you should have no problems if you use 4g/lte only (ie turn off wifi if in car etc) but most my streaming apps stutter or stop when in wifi / lte area and wifi/mobil data is on. I'd too hoped for the OTA to fix this but it didn't, I don't exchange/swap it cuz the three of us have the same issues. I'm fairly disappointed in the DNA in this regards, otherwise I love the phone but will probably change soon (I have a upgrade in my pocket)... as for another HTC device while I really want to use them I'm not sure, I know all phones have various issues, this one for me is extremely problematic (and I'm very happy to those who don't have this issue)

Yeah, it seems to be worse and worse for me as well. Tried wifikeeper, but that seemed to amplify the problem for me. I routinely forget my home network and reconnect, but that only helps for about an hour maybe. I rarely do something on wifi without a disconnect these days. At my house, I bounce between 3g/4g so much (literally on the line separating 2 areas) mobile data is as bad as wifi or worse. Everywhere else, I just use mobile data now. Wish I had not taken the ota now as I only took it hoping it would fix this issue. Oh well, hubby has an upgrade available; he is not really much of a phone geek like me so I may just give him my DNA in favor of a new device without this issue soon.

My problem isn't that it disconnects or isn't reconnecting/ remembering networks... My phone will be connected, and an app will tell me that its not. But when you look up top the WiFi icon has full signal. On public networks, I will also have full signal, but pages will not load what so ever.

Mine does that, too (shows good connection via wifi at top but says cannot connect) and more than half the time, it will disconnect shortly thereafter and subsequently reconnect. Happens in apps and browser. But sometimes I do just give up when the disconnect/reconnect does not happen. Maybe it is 2 separate issues.

There are a couple of things that come to mind when using public networks.

  • If you are in an area with multiple public networks interference can be an issue. For example if there are two shops nearby both using the same channel as you move through the store you will have an interference issue.
  • Timed restricted authorization. Some system have short address valid times. So after a short period you must go back to the web page and re-enter the "I agree" with the terms and conditions.

I am having major problems with the Wifi connection and my new HTC One, I really love the phone and I am an avid apple person, I figured that I would try the droid since I never used one. My only issue it is constantly dropping my signal, several times each minute sometimes. I have tested my modem and it is not the modem. My daughter has her Wifi working just fine and I can be online with my computer and a Netflix but my phone won't keep th signal. I downloaded a Wifi Analyzer and a Wifi Booster app. Don't know if they really do anything other than reset the signal constantly. Is anyone else having this issue? I only have a few more days to decide to before I can't return it anymore.

Thanks for hte update on hte HTC ONE, while your comment belongs in another forum (HTC ONE) it show/ tells me HTC continues to have network stack issues on their phones (one X / dna / one) This will lead me to leave HTC at the next chance I get, I'd like to love them but they just don't meet performance standards any more for what I use the phone for. I won't lock myself into a 2 year phone that has networking issues again.

HTC isn't the only mfgr to have WiFi issues , They all do. WiFi is a very fickle animal to tame. The Asus tablet forum has many posts about WiFi as does the networking forum at Anand Tech.

Yeah don't think WiFi issues are HTC specific. Never had issues on the Rezound but did on Motos, as have friends n family with Sammies, LG and Snapples. So many factors at play with WiFi as has already been pointed out.
