To be honest they lost me with the time line jump. Instead of following Episode VII - The Force Awakens, this one takes place between Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV - A New Hope. Thus seems more like an attempt to milk money from the franchise, a typical Hollywood move these days, instead of advancing the story line.

Possibly, BUT, there IS a story to be told here. Not convinced that it needs 3 movies as are planned thou, so maybe you are right.

I'm fine with a strong cinematic presentation. It would be nice to have a solid plot and script, but excellent cinematography and effects will make this movie worth watching (in theaters at least).

Just saw the trailers for this, and I was hyped. Maybe it's just me, but it carried that feeling I felt when I first started Star Wars... This feeling like it's all back to basics, to the pure undiluted Star Wars.

Can't wait to watch it.

Some of the reviews have not been favorable (e.g. NY Times). I found the film entertaining though the 3D effects were weak. Watching a 2D edition would have been just as good. I thought the storyline offered solid closure at the end though viewers may not like the way it was achieved.
