Anyone feel 3G Data is slow compare to other Sprint 3G phones?

I wonder if people not paying for "premium data" are the ones experiencing the slower speeds. I myself seem to have slower speeds and also don't pay the fee as I am grandfathered in.
I am also grandfathered in these are my results.
First is 3G
Second is WiFi

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did!

Well, as you could you see from my side-by-side experiment above, I had a much better speed with an identical grandfathered plan running on an older smartphone (Palm Pro).

I don't know if it's possible for Sprint to throttle an account based on the device. I'll try with another non-grandfathered plan when I get a chance and see if that would 'unleash' the Optimus.

Re: Anyone feel 3G Data is slow compare to other Sprint 3G phones

I'm in DC suburb with excellent coverage. My experience with:
- 2 accounts
- 2 Optimus S
- 2 Palm Pro

Both accounts are on identical plans. I migrated 1 account from the Palm Pro to the Optimus S. Side by side, I ran dslreports.com/mspeedtest:
- Palm Pro: 617 kilobits per second
- Optimus S: 115 kilobits per second

I repeated the test multiple times at different times of the day and got similar results every time. I was wondering if the issue was that particular Optimus handset. So, I activated the 2nd account on the 2nd Optimus and ran the tests. The result: still very low throughput with the Optimus S. I tried the test with different ROMs as well and got low throughput just the same.

So, with two Optimus S units, I keep getting poor results. In my case, it's not the network.
I don't know what is causing your issues, but I tested at a local mall recently and saw 1898/375 and 1268/327. At my own location I usually see around 450/350.

I don't think the phone can be solely to blame for your results (unless it is defective or they changed the builds) because clearly the phone is capable of faster than what you are seeing.

Premium data wasn't in the picture so it wasn't a factor for this test.

This was on mostly stock ZVD rooted with some Sprint apps removed.
