Sadly, I have been unable to get Amazon Instant Video working on my new N7. I've tried sideloading flash with dolphin browser and Firefox to no avail. Has anybody been able to get AOD to work? Any suggestions?

Amazon videos are working for me on my nexus 7. I sideloaded firefox and adobe flash player apps from my galaxy nexus running jb.

I have problems going full screen once in a while (I am not sure if it is the flash problem or the Firefox's incompatibility with nexus 7). But most of the times, full screen videos on amazon work.

Alright, I uninstalled all browsers and flash, redownloaded and reinstalled. Must have been a bad flash apk, because its working now. Thanks!

Mind linking the APK or IM'ing to me?Ive tried a couple and can't get it to work. Firebox beta just crashes everytime and Dolphin HD says the version I'm using isn't supported.

Nevermind, found one on XDA that works.APK File: http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...6&d=1342580973

Got it to work in Firefox beta. Would not work in Dolphin HD FYI

I don't know to be honest. I just dl'd FF Beta from the Play Store and it works. Never used aurora to know if its the same or not.

Hi guys - first post here. Migrating from BlackBerry to Android and I'm starting with the Nexus 7. Going to have a lot of catching up to do. Anyway...

Do I understand correctly that if I download the Firefox beta from Play or Android Market I will be able to get Amazon Prime working...without downloading other things? Is that correct?

Trying to get a handle in a different ecosystem and I appreciate the guidance

You will still have to side load the Flash player. Instructions are here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...rum/189897-no-flash-got-you-down-try-fix.html

I got it working by side-loading Flash and using Firefox Beta. I don't understand why Amazon won't just release an Android app (beyond the Kindle Fire) when they are going to great lengths to make their video service available on a bunch of other devices (PS3, Roku, etc).

I asked a friend who works for Amazon about this and he was just as baffled as I am.

Amazon, I want to buy your content. Would it be so bad if you just let me?!?

Amazon doesn't build a PS3 competitor?

Yea, I can understand that argument, except they offer their other services for Android (like Kindle ebooks and their music player). Besides, isn't Amazon actually losing a little money on each Kindle Fire sold? The point of the KF is to have a device to increase sale of their digital goods. rather than to make money selling the device itself. How does it make sense to limit the devices on which those digital goods are available?

I will concede that Amazon's strategy with the Kindle Fire may change with the new models coming out this year, and then I could see having Amazon Video exclusivity becoming a selling point for those devices.

Up until JB, lack of Flash on Android wasn't an issue so Amazon wasn't losing sales.

Either way, I'm sure they'd still prefer we were a captive audience always going to the Amazon store.

This is true. I'm sure Amazon enjoys making money from people buying apps from them instead of the Play Store (and other sources), for example.
