Anyone getting a watch to go with their Note 8

Gear S3 Frontier. The only thing I don't like about it is only the stock messenger is fully functional with it.

When I used Textra I was able to use it with quick replies and what not. What other functions are you missing? I've been using stock for awhile and can't remember the limitations.

I can reply from the initial notification, but if I swipe it away, I can't. There is no dedicated message app other than the Samsung app.

Question, what do you mean that the sick messenger is fully functional with the phone? I use Textra and I'm able to create messages, read messages and send quick replies from my S3 Frontier... The reason I ask is I'm wondering what other function I'm missing. Just wondering.

I'm waiting to see what is coming with the S4 in 2018 to go with my new Note 8.

If the watch is released with the S9, rumor is it'll be in March. Unless it's the usual fall release for the watch.

I bought the Gear S2 Classic when I still had my Note 5, right before the Note 7 released. Used it with both of them, and then again with the N5. Altho by then I was sick of re-setting it up (and would also lose some data each time), I had intended to use it with my N8.

However, right around that time I noticed an indentation on my wrist, exact where the heart rate sensor is (green laser). You can have the HR monitor record your pulse every hour or every 10 mins. I have some cardiac issues so I had it set to take my pulse every 10 mins, round the clock (except for a daily 20 min shower). I want to say I used it for about 6 months before noticing the indent.

Thought at first it was just from pressure, but it's now been around 8 months since I've last worn it, and it's still there. There's a fitbit topic about it (would be the same cause), but I've never found anything on the Samsung watches.

Someone in that topic likened it to laser lipo, lol. Funny, but it maybe actually true.

I FLOVE that watch and am seriously pissed that I can't use it.

my wife and I just bought 2 matching Gear S2s watches n so far we love them with the latest update on them it's almost identical to the GS3....of course with some hardware differences..but oh yea I have a note 8 n absolutely love this combo my wife has an S7 but is upgrading to the S9 wen available

I got the Gear S3 Frontier. What a combo with my Note 8....The Best....

Only gripe is can't get Samsung Pay working on the gear... Not sure if its because got the gear in HongKong and live in the UK. Card gets registered without any issues.... But doesn't work when trying to pay!

I have had issues with Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 too, it used to work great.
