Anyone getting a watch to go with their Note 8

I have had a Gear Fit 2 for over a year. Does the job I need and I transitioned it to the Note 8.

I bought a Gear S3 Classic LTE & my hubby bought the S3 Frontier LTE from AT&T... $50 each through a promo they were running when you buy the Note 8

Wow, that's an awesome deal! I wished T-Mobile or Samsung offered that promo.

Wanted the S3 but it looks bulky for me, I just picked up a refurbished S2 Classic from eBay for $110

When I went into Verizon to trade in my s6 for the promotion a couple weeks back the rep tried to entice me into biting on the $250 s3 deal.

I was already happy with my seiko kinetic but I admitted that the style of the s3 looked good. I wasn't sure about the utility of having the s3 watch (I enjoy a Garmin for running) and my seiko looks good with a suit (which I have to wear for work).

The catch on the Verizon deal is you had to sign a 2 year contract. Forget that. Fast forward to today, I found a barely used s3 classic (looks better with my suits I have to wear for work than the frontier) online for $165 and that included four watchbands.

I ran with the Garmin on one arm and the s3 on the other arm yesterday and the s3 was within .01 accuracy of my Garmin. The interface and functionality of the s3 is awesome and I am so happy I grabbed it. I don't have it hooked to lte and I don't see a need to do so given my needs. I'd like to see others input on the advantages and usefulness of the lte connection.

3 weeks ago it never crossed my mind to get the watch, now I find myself calling, texting and using it as a fitness assistance tool and enjoying the interchangeability of the watch faces. If anyone is in the fence, give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Cool where did you find it for & 165?

I found it on Facebook. She was a friend of my brother. I really got lucky running into it. She originally asked for $225 but I was as able to talk her down after she had little interest from others.

I've had the Frontier to keep Samsung Pay after switching to the Pixel because of N7 issue. I like it but I'm thinking about switching to Android Wear, one of the Lg ones for Google Assistant.

I currently have a Fitbit Blaze but was thinking of switching to a gear S3 or S3 frontier. I guess I'm actually not sure yet what the difference is between the two.

Does anyone use the gear S3 with the Fitbit app? I'm always doing the weekly Fitbit challenges with several friends, some have apple watches.

The idea of being able to track my fun, listen to music, all while leaving my phone at home definitely appeals to me. Can this be done with the gear fit 2 or gear fit 2pro?

As you can probably tell I haven't really looked into anything at all about these yet. Ha. My last Samsung smart watch was the OG Galaxy gear. I'm guessing we've come a long way since then...

The only difference between the S3 Classic & Frontier is the look. Internally they're the exact same, so it's just a matter of personal preference. I originally bought the Frontier but I found it looked too masculine and sporty, so I exchanged it for the classic and I love it. I also felt it was easier for me to dress it up vs the Frontier. But again, that's up to the wearer. As far as the fitbit app, I'll let someone else answer that bit 😉

As far as I'm aware, the Fitbit app only works with a Fitbit.

I just picked up a Note8 this weekend and took advantage of the $49 deal for a Gear S3 Frontier. I'm coming from iPhone with Apple Watch that I've worn every day for 2 years. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Gear S3. Went to the gym for the first time yesterday with it and so much better interface for sweaty hands... dial vs. swipe and crown.

I have the S3 Classic lte Verizon and Can anyone figure out how to get messages if your phone is off? I get phone calls but only messages if the phone is on and connected to network can't if airplane mode.

I might pick up a Gear S2.

Me too, but I'm waiting for a nice promotion from T-Mobile. I think they are doing free digits for a period time. Not sure what they mean by that. Free digits or is the watch line free for a period of time.

I checked, the LTE watch is $399. ??????. I wonder if Samsung planning to release a new one soon, might wait for that, or wait for the holiday, if there might be any promotions.

Nice discount, tip go into settings security ,screen lock , scroll down to usage and set to payments.
This way the only time you need to use a pin on the watch is for payments.
Other wise will drive you crazy unlocking your watch.
Go Samsung pay //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170903/45ac8e64c82013188287f5c903b9b20a.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170903/a94c6f3eb1539c403d4b8890a6443eac.jpg

What the heck?! My watch doesn't have that option. In security, I just have the option to have a pin or not. Usage isn't even an option. :/

I checked with T-Mobile, its $399 for the LTE watch plus $10 w/ autopay which includes digitz, unlimited data, text & talk... is it really worth $10 a month for this service?... should've been $5 a month.

Kinda don't want the bluetooth version, because I used to have the Apple Watch Ser 1, and it was having issues getting live notification... sometime delay, sometime the phones shows the notification, and the watch doesn't...
