Welp, I picked up a Pixel 2, and my Note 8 is currently sitting on my nightstand ATM. I won't give my Note 8 up but right now I am trying the Pixel as my daily phone. I prefer the Note 8s display though for sure. But the software on this Pixel is super light and efficient.
I'm buying pixel 2xl this coming week. Friend giving me a killer price. I love my Note 8 and this is just going to complicate my life. I just can't pass up the deal.I'm in the same position. I picked up a Pixel 2 XL and while I love the note, I'm liking the software better on the Pixel.
I watched the unveiling tonight - was pretty interested in it. I checked with our local Best Buy - they expect to have display models in in a few days, and Samsung Reps probably will have a test unit in the same time frame.

It would be difficult for me to go the the S variant after having the Note.I used to, I would jump to the newest S phone then back to the note but I think this time I'll skip the SO and jump when the Note 9 comes out, I started using the spen alot and I think I would miss it
Going from the Note 8 size to the Iphone X size - that'll take some getting used to - unless you're finding that size works better for you. There's a friend at work he prefers the smaller phones as they're more pocketable......just bought my first iphone in 5 years......got a great deal on swappa on a brand new "x". will see how it goes, but a couple of quirks on the 8 pushed me over the edge.....namely short SOT and overall size and weight of the phone....
but im surely going to miss my s-pen.....will see how long this lasts.

I'm the opposite - I much prefer the larger ones. Although the Iphone X did look pretty nice whenever I'd go to Sams or Best Buy and see it on display. Here's to some good times ahead for you and the Iphone X.

It's probably the battery life and I think we all need some help here lol.Gotta say.. im itching like crazy here!
Had my Note 8 for three weeks and today is the last day I can return it. I love it. I think it's amazing. All except battery life.
Yet something keeps drawing me back to an iPhone X. So much so that I went to Apple and bought one on the 14 day policy the other day. Even while I was playing with it in store and subsequently at home, it feels boring and nowhere near as functional as the note 8. So u can't explain what it is that keeps making me feel the pull other than maybe the Apple Watch as I don't think the Huawei Watch 2 I also got is as great and there isn't anyway I'm going to entertain a Samsung smart watch.
Maybe it's the background knowledge that I know Apple will look after me if things to wing compared to Samsung customer service which I've experienced in the past and know to be a complete joke.
Maybe it's the battery life. That's the one downfall I'm experiencing in the note. It's abysmal compared to the iPhone X. I don't feel excited by the iPhone in the way that I do with the note and yet it feels like the sensible, practical choice. Though I also know I'm likely going to feel the same regret if I return the note.
I think maybe I just need help. Lol

You and I are twins in this regard. Knowing all the while that my Note is way more entertaining then my iPhone 8 Plus I still can't force myself to choose the Note. My thing with it is the ecosystem between my iMac and iPad. I love that. But I love all the fun things my Note does too!! Here's what I'm hoping for in all honesty, come September I'm hoping for an iPhone X Plus with freaking real multitasking capabilities, like split screen, picture in picture, etc. Like the rumors are depicting. Then honey, I'm never leaving Apple lol. In the meantime all I can do to appease myself is keep my sim in my iPhone and use my Note on WiFi and Visa versa when I feel like it.Gotta say.. im itching like crazy here!
