Anyone Getting the "Itch"

Because I use the Spen for taking my notes, no other phone comes close.....the 8 doesn't have the slowdown of my Note edge or my Note 7(R.I.P.) and doesn't **** its battery life away like my Note 5 replacement....although I'm not sure if the software or the hardware was to blame( pretty sure it was both at times) they've about nailed it with the 8. Not sure what they can do to make me drop it for the 9, but if things keep up I'll be really excited for the 11...

Hands down......NOTE 8 BEST OF BEST!! Loved Note 4....8 is the orig on steroids.
Retired military.....current military contractor.....the 8 has performed flawlessly all over the world.....came out of combat, heat, sweat, sand, dirt, shock and moisture without ONE glitch.....camera as good as my Nikon!!!
Look fwd to seeing what the 9 brings to the table!@@@

No itch here, happy with the Note 8. May go to the Note 9 if there is a good trade in deal out there when the time arrives.

Re: Anyone Getting the "Itch"

Just today I was on the phone and needed to write something down. I just pulled out the pen and started writing. I love the versatility the note gives me.

I ALWAYS get the itch to try something new but you know what? I'm not impressed with what is out there right now. My Note8 covers ALL the bases for me to this day. It's functionality is still unrivaled especially if you're an active SPen user so, yeahhhhhhhhh I'm sticking with the best until someone shows that their product is better.

Same for me... I have a hard time sticking with any phone for more than 6 months, but we're really reaching peak smartphone here. The Note 8 covers all the bases.

The biggest thing keeping me from switching compulsively these days is carrier lock-in, too. If you're on AT&T and switch to anything but an AT&T model phone, you lose functionality that I need (HD Voice, VoLTE, Wi-fi calling/texting). I know the Pixel 2 has VoLTE post-8.1 update, but I work in too many marginal areas to lose the Wifi calling ability. Plus, if you get yourself into a situation where your registered IMEI isn't an AT&T one, it can be a nightmare to keep even the basics working. Went through that with a Pixel, OP3t, HTC U11, and I'm just done for now... You win, AT&T :)

Don't do it! I've moved from the N8 to iphone X back to Note 8 then to Pixel XL 2 and now back to the note 8. I wish I would've saved my money! Also went to essential phone briefly but meh.

Yep itchy here. Just about jump ship to the Pixel 2 XL or the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Not sure which yet, I'll probably end up tossing a coin

Please do not go to pixel, i had the 2 XL before my note and was so excited about it but it turned out being the worst phone ive ever had. Had the note 8 for a month now and have 0 issues except battery life, couldve been better. Im really happy with my note 8 and i was all iphone since 2011.

My carrier has a 2 week return policy and I had the itch about a month ago. Tried the X for a week then switched it out for the Pixel 2XL Panda. After a couple days with those devices, I ended up missing the Note for everything it had to offer. Didn't end up keeping them but I got my itch out of the way. Still think it's the best phone out.

Yea "Big Mistake" all your doing is losing the money/value you spent on your N8.

He'll if anything Jump on the S9 Plus presale in a couple of days. **I am just to check it out head to head with the N8** as for the Pixel XL 2 **Dismal disappointment** after buying one on Jan 19 2018. I returned a device with defective screen (burn in and color scale issues/grey) and the finish chips off all around the usb-c port...(im very gentle w my devices) So..Wow...**** QC on the devices protective paint/finish/coating is straight GARBAGE and now I have $400 in credit sitting in the Google store waiting for they're next attempt at a flagship device. Without a doubt No way on Ho-way either I mean ....why downgrade :?

As a daily device, no itch. For me personally, this is the best phone out there. I mean... maybe another Note 8 in a different color? Lolo. I do wish it were wider. It would be fun to doodle around with another phone but none come close to the Note for me.

I feel the same way.
I wish it was wider. My be 3 to 4 mm.

I've been a fan of the Notes since they came out. I had the Note 7 until I turned it back in because of the fire problems. When the Note 8 came out I got it. I only had 2 problems with the Note 8. It is narrow and they didn't make it in color purple. If the S9 Plus comes out in purple I'm going to get it. Unless the Note 9 comes out in purple. Other than that I love everything about the Notes .

I love my Note 8. After I had to turn in my Note 7 It was hard waiting for the 8. Getting it half off from Samsung made it even better. I haven't had any problems with my Note 8. I have no desire to switch to an IPhone whatsoever, although the X is a great product. The Pixel 2xl maybe, but I need water resistance with my job. So that's out. Everyone has their own needs and wants from a smartphone and for me the Note 8 is it.

I love the Note 8 but I did get the itch for the Pixel 2 XL back in December and the Pixel 2 XL is still my daily phone. The Note's screen is still much better but gasp! I've gotten to where I love CLEAN Android and no, I am not "one of them." And the camera truly is the best I've used.

I think the itch hasn't hit me because of the customization on this phone and the success of the newer Samsung experience launcher I enjoy everything about this and has helped me stay fully in love with this great phone.

All good here, I am still on my Note 8 and happy with it. If the next iteration of the Note remains fairly similar I will likely stay with it. I do wish it was a tad wider.

I absolutely positively love the Note 8. The best phone on the planet today. I can't see upgrading for at least 2 years.

I'm still very happy w/ my Note8. I wish there was an S-view cover like the Note7 and S7edge. And while I like the curved screen, I wish there were better screen protector options out there (that are cheap and effective). Right now, I use a case, but no screen protection (and luckily no scratches and cracks).

I can see myself using this for the next several years. The only thing that excites me about the S9 is stereo speakers which I assume the Note9 will have, but I can't justify another $1000 purchase just for a feature.

I think the only way for me to upgrade is if there is a step change in design or technology...the foldable phone could be interesting...
