Bobdob . . Just FYI in case you didn't know, there are many threads here and elsewhere that seem to agree it is not the gorilla glass that is scratching but merely a coating that can be removed with light buffing
It's the best way to use itI'm using it so naked right now I should be arrested!
You kind've inspired me to do it again.
Bobdob . . Just FYI in case you didn't know, there are many threads here and elsewhere that seem to agree it is not the gorilla glass that is scratching but merely a coating that can be removed with light buffing . . so I've chosen to go caseless and not worry about the scratches as it doesn't seem to affect the quality of my pictures . . . just my 2¢
I can see how that happens. However to me that's a poor design to require any kind of buffing like that on a device I've had for a month and has picked up well over a dozen huge scratches on the camera glass. Coating or not, this is unacceptable and my only gripe with the G6 .
It is an oleophobic coating. You will notice after its removed it will pick up more fingerprints as expected. I would much rather fingerprints over scratches though. Its probably an oleophobic coating
Interesting that I took my screen protector off my V20. After a couple of days I noticed very light scratches. The funny is if I wipe the screen they go away. They only reappear if it touch the area with finger. It must be the oleophobic coating. It is an oleophobic coating. You will notice after its removed it will pick up more fingerprints as expected.
