Just Ordered mine from Best Buy Today

I had a Big Dilemma Though

I Stopped at a Local Wireless Store In Michigan

They had an EVO coming in at Noon

They agreed to sell it to me, but only if i purchased the complete Invoice

The complete Invoice was a Screen Protector, Case, Car Charger

I thought it over carefully and i told them if they called me by Noon i would pickup the complete Invoice

I went to BB, and they are doing pre orders On the EVO

They say they fill the pre orders in 5-7 days

So i opted for a pre order instead of getting the EVO from the other store

They called me at 12:30, and told me it was available for pickup

I passed on it because i didnt want the hassle of the Mail In Rebate

Patience i guess

I'm also trying to get my hands on an Evo. Last Saturday I went to a few Sprint stores, a few radio shacks, and finally Best Buy. What really turned me off at the Sprint store was they refused to match Best Buy/Radio Shack's price. I refuse to give them another opportunity to screw me over on a mail in rebate. (About a year ago my wife upgraded to a HTC Hero and it had a $100 mail in rebate, they ended up denying the rebate saying it wasn't within the purchase time, yet the receipt we had from the sprint store said it was, called sprint and pretty much got stonewalled) One Sprint employee told me they no longer price match anyone. Not that they even had any Evo's to sell. Radio Shack didn't have any either and finally I talked to a salesperson at Best Buy and was told they were getting shipments of about 50 a week or so, and if I put a deposit of $50 on one, they'd call me when it came in. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks. After finding this site yesterday and reading about people that called Best Buy and ended up getting an Evo rather quickly, I called my local store. The first person I talked to said that I could come put a deposit down and they would guarantee an Evo within 5-7 days. Then when I explained I had already done that, she said "oh it'll be here withing 2-3 weeks of when you paid your deposit"

If my wife wasn't so attached to Sprint I would have jumped ship to Verizon by now, people I've dealt with at Sprint seem to have 0 interest in retaining customers.

Just so you are aware... I did the same thing at best buy.. I ended up going to the sprint store..Exact words from two best buy employees "it is not an order it is a wait list".

They are taking the wait list to let sprint and HTC know ho much demand there is. That was what i was told. So you could be waiting a long time..

The reason when i found out the sprint store got a shipment in i ran to get one.

I ordered my first one through BB and had it the next day, and I ordered a second one through my company's Sprint portal a few weeks back, and although it was sold out through sprint.com/sprint stores, it only took 2 days to ship, and it went out overnight.

If you really want one, I'd suggest looking at the ways to gain access to corporate portals as they seem to have priority or available stock at all times for those users.

I just got a call from my local Best Buy, the Evo I put a deposit on last Saturday is ready for me to come pick it up. GL to anyone else still searching. You should try what I did (post in this thread *****ing about not being able to find one) and see if you get one that day, worked for me Can't wait to get my Evo and start playing with it!

just starting to sink my teeth into the EVO Now

For all the guys who dont want a 300 dollar charge to appear on your bill

Go to Best Buy and pre order your phone

I went in Thursday at 12 pm and i got a call today at 11;30 telling me my phone is here

Cant beat that

plus no MIR

BTW, I ordered them for my 2 SERO lines. I confirmed with telesales that my SERO plan is still in tact and will not be changed until I activate the phones (about 12:01 am Friday morning).

I know that lots of stores are still sold out. Just get on everyone's waiting lists. Within a week you will get one.
