Anyone having issues with latest update 2.3.5

Hi guys

I have had several issues develope since I downloaded the new update for my EVO (2.3.5). I am not sure if all the issues is due to the update or not. My phone was working fine before the update.

First issue I have noticed is that when I try to make a phone call the call does not go through even though the phone acts like it is going through. (example green phone symbol in upper hand corner and red end call button.. No sound on phone or speaker phone). I have to re2nstart phone to fix this. IT has happened 5 or 6 times in 3 days.

Second issue Battery life has been really bad. This morning I had a full charge and by 10am the full battery had depleted itself... Did not use phone at all.

Third issue Unable to connect with network with data at times. Twitter, Facebook, Market, web pages will give a error about not being able update at this time or unable to connect. Tried updating the PRL to no avail.. Only way to fix at this point is to restart phone and everything works fine. Also I have noticed that some of my IM's will come in bunches upto 30 or so min after they were sent. I might get 5 - 10 messages at times at once.

These are just a couple is anyone else going through this?

I received the update a few days ago and i have not had any issues with it. Battery life is normal, calls working fine, sounds are all a go. I have heard of not all updates working the same on every phone, so idk. Good luck though.

No issues. I'm absolutely not trying to gloat, but I honestly restarted my phone because I thought my battery indicator wasn't working since it hardly moved all day after the latest update. I don't know what changed, but I am getting much better battery life after the update. After an hour-long phone call, I finally saw a predictable drop, but the idle time seems to be much more efficient. Prior to the update, I was seeing decreased capacity. Now, it's fantastic....time will tell. Stock, minimal apps, and fully updated.

No issues here except the battery drains quick and can't root.

I would probably recommend that you do a factory reset. I always do this after an upgrade and have never had any issues... yeah, you will have to redo all your apps and such but I bet you wont have any more issues...

Same here. It's also not listed on Sprint or HTC's update site..

Battery life when my phone is on standby has improved greatly.

the only negative effect i've noticed since the upgrade, is that my phone defaults to speaker on calls. i am digging around for a fix. other than that, i am not encountering any problems.

Same here. Not good as I travel and I am constantly kicked out of any secure site.

Anyone know of a fix?

Same issues here with Wi-fi. Bounces out of Wi-fi and over to 3G, sometimes loses connection completely, then switches back to Wi-fi. I'm standing next to my router the whole time. It's not a huge deal but can be pretty annoying at times.

You CAN root it. You just have to use HTCDev.com to do it now.

Update on the wifi dropping and returning issue: Over at the Sprint Forum, an user took their phone to Best Buy. Per the Best Buy employees, the only current work around is to go into the advanced wifi settings, select "Use Static IP", but do not enter any other information. Per that user, this fix does work.

I will try it myself tonight. I called Sprint and took my phone to the Sprint store. Both blamed HTC and said that we would have to wait for another update (which probably will never happen given the EOL status).

Didn't work for me. Keeps bouncing back between WiFi and 3G. Was worth a shot though.
