Anyone having problems with auto brightness?

When I had the s7 edge, note 7 and s8+, auto brightness was awesome unlike all other phones I've tried but with the note 8 during the day it works fine but sometimes is a little low so I manually adjust it a little higher but then when I wake up in total darkness I turn on the phone and it turns on at around 25%-30% brighness so I have to manually adjust it to 0% every morning when I turn it on in total darkness. The s8+ was very bright and perfect during the day and if I turned on on in total darkness it would turn on with 0% brighness.

I was disappointed with auto brightness in the beginning as it was not nearly as good as on my previous Samsung phones. However, it is better now, probably the self-learning feature of the software needed more time to adjust.

As above, it is learning in what conditions/light you use it every time you manually adjust settings, I think you can switch this off and use a preprogrammed default setting instead which will probably work just fine for most of us
