Anyone having problems with watch being 'OFFLINE'?

So, I've been having this issue where I tap my Moto360's screen for the 'Google Now' screen to appear, but instead I will get an 'OFFLINE' message with a crossed-out cloud and it won't take any voice commands.

Sometimes it stays offline for seconds, sometimes for minutes, sometimes I have to restart it.

This has been happening repeatedly during the day, although my devices (Moto360-Nexus4, everything up to date) seem to be paired fine, every connection available and working fine.

Does anyone have this same problem? or know what could be the issue? (Phone or Watch)?

Thanks,

Same problem here. Spent 47 min on tech support from Motorola. A supervisor is supposed to call me back in 24-48 hours. Yeah I have heard that before. Watch will receive all information from Phone like texts email and such, but can't use ok google from watch . Get the dreaded cloud with line. Samsung S5.

It looks like many people are facing this problem. My connection was also randomly dropping. All of a sudden, I'd get a string of notifications when it reconnected.

It looks like it's a problem for many. I've already read numerous reviews noting this, and others on this forum are also talking about how this is happening. I sometimes got a string of notifications when it reconnected.

I am having the same problem. When I use google voice, about half of times it went offline and can't take any commands.

My friend's moto 360 does not have this problem. Considering the serial numbers, mine seems to be produced later than my friend's.

I seriously hope this is not a hardware issue.. so disappointing...

At first I thought it was a problem with the Bluetooth connection, which is not (because when the BT is turned off it displays 'DISCONNECTED'), glad it's not that.

But it is really annoying that I turn my wrist, watch display turns on, "Ok, Google..." and the thing is Offline. Can't really do anything.

Tried turning BT off/on, at first it seemed to work, but that's not the issue.

Also tried Resetting the watch, restarting it, reinstalling AndroidWear on phone... Nothing. Hopefully someone at Motorola/Google notices this problem and gives us a permanent solution. If not, we'll just have to wait for the next update.

If anyone here figures this out, please help, it's driving me nuts.

Hey jcorona, I am having the exactly same issue. Are you sure it can be solved with software update? I mean, isn't this a hardware issue?

I just wanted to figure out if I have to return this product. I know it is going to be a hard decision considering that I may not be able to purchase another one very soon...so I really hope it's just a software issue that can be solved with updates.

Realdave, I'm just guessing here about what the issue could be.

I know for sure that it isn't a BT problem, because when BT is turned off it displays "DISCONNECTED" (also there's a cloud with a line across it), and in this case it displays "OFFLINE" (also NO cloud).

:-\

Hello jcorona, I think I have solved the issue. I deleted everything (android wear, motorola connect, and other related apps) from my phone, and reset my watch, and then reinstalled everything, set up my watch, and connected them again. Now it seems to work fine. I didn't see any "offline" message from last night until now (3 pm). Google voice search works very well too.

The cause might be related to the fact that I had connected two android wear watches with my phone. Now that I deleted android wear and then reconnected my watch, android wear app only shows one watch on the first screen. Before it showed two, since I used to connect the other watch with my phone.

I will have to see, but so far it seems ok so wanted to share. It might not be the case with you though..

Ok, here's something you can try. I can't say if it'll work because I don't have my Moto 360 yet. But this seems to cure a lot of ills for other similar connectivity issues.

1. Go into Settings > Accessibility
2. Scroll down to the "Services" section.
3. Turn everything off.

See if that cures the problem. If so, turn services on, one by one, until you find the culprit. Just a guess, but an educated guess based upon other problems I've had in Android.

I have seen this a couple of times myself, but only when in my car, and only when making a call via my in-car bluetooth. At that point the watch will display "Disconnected" until I complete the call, after which the 360 will reconnect to my phone within a couple of seconds.

Is it possible that those that are having issues might be having problems with your phone trying to connect to other bluetooth devices in your vicinity? Wondering if this might be a problem with how your phone prioritizes it's bluetooth connections?

I am giving this thing called a watch 4 more days. Then it goes back. On sometimes offline others. I don't really need a smart(dumb) watch. My Omega does just fine. In Vegas today. Watch crapped out in the sun. 95 degrees out. No its hot please put it away. Just stopped working. Went inside 20 min later 85% charge, and it turned back on. One bad pixel to boot. Really on something that small one pixel. TV's can make it without a bad pixel, but this watch as small as it is can't. Sorry so sorry.

All
I am currently traveling in Europe from the states. I turned on restricted mode to prevent a data overage. This prevents background data services. I noticed that my moto was periodically showing offline. I re-enabled background data and all was good consistently. Might be worth a try for others if you have this or some other kind of data restriction enabled. Think about it... Google now probably appears to the phone as a background service despite the blue tooth connection which is unrelated to this issue.
In addition, I also have a theory that restricted mode with a paired moto360 causes excessive battery drain on my galaxy S4; but I cannot be sure about that just yet.

Motorola Mobility has provided 1 shipping label for your convenience.

I did not request, but they left me a vm and sent me a shipping label. There must be something beyond updates wrong with some of the watches. Good to see they are being somewhat proactive

I confirmed again today that restricting background data causes both the offline issue AND causes the Android wear app to skyrocket to the top consumer of battery and sucks the life out of the s4. Simply turning background data back on restores full awesomeness of the moto 360. Love this thing.

Have the OPO and the 360. Same problem from time to time. Rebooting the phone seems to do the trick. Hoping it is a problem with the Android Wear app itself. Next time will just clear out the app. Will see.

Ok i just confirmed this happening to me. When my phone is on while this is happening an error pops up on phone that says "unfortunately Google search has stopped working" . It must be a problem in the phone software.
