Anyone interested in a Slate?

If the Slate had a 512 GB option, it would make my decision much easier. As it stands, I'm leaning towards the current Pixelbook because most of my experience will be laptop-focused anyway. I need to be able to tap into the Windows OS side of things on the Enterprise side, so I want the extra storage space just in case.

I'm with Chex on this. I believe Google wants to combine the Pixelbook and (some) tablet functionality. The Slate appears to me to be 75% Pixelbook and 25% tablet. High quality pure tablets seem to be going away in the Android world. IMO, the Slate is a Pixelbook with some tablet features. Of course, a keyboard then becomes a requirement.

Yes, there is some overlap between the two but that doesn't mean that Google is going to replace the Pixelbook with the Slate.

The Pixelbook and Slate represent the ultimate in their form-factors. I believe that Google will continue to advance both... they're part of Google's growing product line... phone, tablet, ultrabook.

I think it would be interesting if they updated the slate and pixel book every other year. So the slate gets updated in 2 years and the pixel book is on the off year.

I’m really interested in one. I’d love to really see one in action, and I’d also like to know when they’re actually going to release it. I’m looking at jumping back to the Google world, and would love something like this as a good companion device to my phone.

I'm definitely interested in the concept but the execution is flawed. The software needs more polish and the lack of headphone jack is not something I'm willing to accept at this point. No microSD I can live with nowadays as long as internal storage is plenty and price for it is reasonable, and £969 for the 128GB model is a big "sorry, no way" from me. Even Apple will give you 256GB for that kind of money.

I was thinking the same thing and believe it's a great idea because the hardware Google is using would definitely last a couple of years. I love my Pixel Book but having that already makes it hard to justify getting the Slate even thou I want it.
