Anyone interested in the S10e for size alone?

I just pre-ordered the S10e from Bestbuy. They have the demo units of the three models to try out and the S10e felt the most comfortable in hand. Others were also great, but I've been looking for a smaller phone and S10e looks/feels really good. To be honest, the actual difference in size between the S10e and the S10 isn't that big, but those millimeters do make a difference in the hand. Also I wanted a flat screen so the S10e won out. I wasn't looking to upgrade, but since they are offering $550 for my LG V35 for a trade in, getting the base S10e felt like a no brainer (although I do love my V35). I guess my only concern would be the battery life (my V35 had a great battery life), but since the display is more like a 1080p display, maybe it'll be good.

And finally, the hole punch does look better than any notch/tear drop design. I would've prefer a bigger bezel, but I'll take this compromise.
Nice.

For me I read a lot on my phone, most than an average person I would say. Lots and lots of email. So screen size becomes an issue at times depending on what the app or OS can do with what it is putting on the screen. You can only upscale text and apps so much before stuff gets off set some where else...I am glad they made the S10 screen bigger and kept its overall footprint around the size of the S9.

5.8" is still pretty big to me, but I'd say I'd be more willing to buy the S10e than any other phones in the 10 line.

Nice deal! Congrats! I'll be looking forward to hearing more from you. Also thank you for the heads up about the demo units. I'll have to check it out.

Flat screens for the win!

I've been an iPhone user for years, and one of the reasons is because so many of the top model Android phones comes with curved. I would really like to have the best camera option that's present in S10, but the camera on S10e is still pretty great. I know I will struggle to like the edged screen on S10, and the screen protectors always have a hard time fitting the screen.

That said, I'll think I'll go for the S10. Happy that Samsung made this phone!

The small size is exactly why I want this. I'm a long time LG user, but I'm so sick of phones getting bigger and bigger. I just want to be able to use a phone comfortably in one hand like I could with the G3. This phone is a smidge smaller than the G3 with a larger screen, so I'm pretty excited. The icing on the cake is that I don't have to give up an ultra wide camera lens. That was literally the only thing keeping me in LG's pockets.

I recently returned a Pixel 3 (non XL) and ordered a oneplus 6t just to save some money, and i was just underwhelmed with the pixel 3...

then I see this...

im very tempted from the size standpoint - may give the 6t its run for a few days, hopefully making a stop by best buy to kindve see which size / form factor feels better for me...

i really like the size of this phone along with it missing basically a lot of the "fluff" from the other 2 models.

Let us know what you decide!

I also went to BB and played with all 3. The S10e felt the best in my hand and has the same chipset as the others. Camera means nothing to me as I take about 2 pics a month lol.

I went ahead and ordered a Prism Blue S10e. The overall size, flat screen and price won me over. With the S10 or S10+, I would've got free earbuds, but it's ok.... I'll take the lower price any day.

I still have my iPhone XR but have put it away and will use my S9 until the S10e comes in.

That's so cool! Congratulations on your future shiny and new S10e! How is the camera not as good as the other 10's? I have yet to see the specs. However, it's a Samsung phone - Samsung makes excellent cameras! My mom still has and used her S6 Edge and it takes superb photos.

I've been going back and forth on getting the S10e since preorders opened. I'd be trading in my Note 8 for the $550 trade in, so I'd be paying like $200 for it. I'm not bothered by the curved edges but I feel the 5.8" screen will be easier to manage one-handed. My gf's S8 feels really nice in the hand. I just can't decide if I want to give up the S Pen...

Again, I didn't even open the camera app. I dont take any pictures at all with any of my phones.

I too love the size of this phone and everything about it. I use an iPhone X like Libra, and I am not sure if I want to switch back to Android. Thing is, I am not sold into Apple ecosystem either so I can easily jump back to Android no problem if I choose to. I just don't want to lose out too much money switching from the X to the S10e so I will probably just wait it out for a bit and see if it gets some sort of discount or freebie with it.

Agreed...if it came with the buds like the other 2, I'd be all in.

It's like you're in my head. I can ditto nearly everything you said here. Lol.

At least we know that discounts will come.

Yeah it's funny, I've noticed your comments for years over the forums and I feel like we have been on the same page the entire time haha. And yes, discounts will definitely be coming, just gotta have that patience.

Sorry for the confusion, I was talking about the objective camera specs of the S10e vs the other S10's on paper. I haven't had a chance to compare them. Just wondering if you knew of the specs off hand! This is why I love GSM Arena.

I went into a local BestBuy today to have a look at the new s10's...mainly to see how interested I was in the s10e.

I currently have a Pixel 3 so brought that with me to see if the s10e could lure me away from the pixel.

The phone feels great in the hand, it's slightly shorter than the Pixel but otherwise very similar.

The screen looks great, and the punch hole is by no means a detractor, I think it certainly is better than a notch or chins.

Other than the screen, that was basically it, in my opinion.

I took a few camera shots at objects in the store, and did the same with my pixel to compare, and the camera on the s10e definitely has more noise.

For a higher price tag, a worse camera, and only slightly bigger battery, I'll be staying with my Pixel.
