I've a Kindle and was searching my local library out for ebooks and came across this app that we can use on our Epic 4G. Download it, search out your local library (by zip or city) click on it to add to your lists. Then click on library name, go through your browser to the site and scan for all the ePub books available to download and read...for FREE!

Overdrive Media Console on Android Market

That's really cool to know. I've been getting the "classics" on kindle, that have gone out of production and are available for free now. I'll have to load it up once I get my replacement Epic.

I have been using Overdrive for a while now. I know that my library has more EPUB books than Kindle books, so I have also been downloading them and reading them on other apps.

I found another free app in the Market called Aldiko Book Reader which is basically an eReader with it's own store and whatnot, but if you have ePub books stored on an sd card (either computer or tablet), you can upload them to this app and read them there. Works really well and definitely saves money cos we all know, books can cost a fortune depending on your appetite.

I've used Aldiko reader for a long time. I like it a lot: great for all the free classic (post-copyright) literature. There's a lifetime of excellent reading available for free. BTW, I tried the library app right after you first posted. My lib was listed but then I couldn't view catalogue or check out books. I've got to look into it more but I think it may be a regional library consortium thing.
