Anyone know how pre-sales are going?

Relative to pre-sales of the S8 and S9?

I'm guessing they're much better.

I just checked out on my carrier's webpage (just to see what the freebies are here in my country, I'm skipping 10), and they're backordered with regards to incoming stock. So it's pretty good. I never saw it like that when I got my S9. So anecdotally at least, it's doing better than the S9 in my country (PH).

A guy at my Costco who works for Samsung said the S10+ was selling very quickly. I don't know if that means anything. I did watch him play with the phone he got during the announcement and was very impressed with the FPS.

"According to Samsung, the Galaxy S10 sales are actually “1.2 times” higher than the S9 series sales. However, Samsung did not comment on what the real numbers were."

So probably really somewhere in middle.
Apple-like response from Samsung...........

Sales pre orders were great in China it seems

Could be they produced less units too.

Upgrades aren't that significant so I feel It's going to be a tough market for phones until something ground breaking hits the streets. The in-display FPS will make some jump early for the cool factor. The phone collectors and traders will do their thing but the normal consumers won't even bat an eye.
Those who wait till May or June will probably see some steep discounts

Local stores are not the key indicator, but total registration is. Analysts are saying not as good as previous devices, but are saying the same thing about iPhone. The devices from last year still rock, so there are less one and dones. Even more of the weight is two years or more now, but no true incremental growth.

Why is it that it seems the S line doesn't run out of stock like the Note seems to?

That's good that that seems to be the case where you're living! It's exciting to see preorders going well!

The ship dates are getting pushed out to late in the month and for a good part of the day yesterday it said White and blue were "sold out" so I am guessing they are doing at least as well as they prepared for.

If they're 1.2 times higher, then they're still lower then the S8, I believe. Preorders are also not a good indicator of demand.

Looks like the Prism White is sold out again on the Samsung website. That's happened several times. Ship dates will probably push out past March 22 now.

People who preorder are a very small part of early sales numbers. Most people will still go into a store so that they know what they are buying.

People also like to wait and see if there are any major bugs/problems. Watch all the reviews etc, then upgrade.
