Anyone know how to add alarm tones?

i want to be able to use any sound file as an alarm, other that the default, and the music folder. I know that if you put files in the ringtone folder, you see those files when you change your ring tone. On a different phone, I was able to make an Alarm folder, but no luck here

Welcome to Android Central! My Nexus 5 comes with an Alarms directory (the full directory name is /storage/sdcard0/Alarms/). You don't see that on yours?
