Anyone know where we can pre order?

Staples is showing other "Coming Soon" tablets why wouldn't they have the Asus one up there if it's going to be released in a few days..

I dont buy too many electronics, so I have to ask is it normal for there not to be a pre order available for a device coming out in a few days? It seems to me that you can pre order nearly every new device that comes out well in advance. I have this bad feeling that since ASUS sold out of Transformers so fast in the UK and other places that on the 26th the US will be getting very very few. Maybe thats why they arent even listed on Amazon yet.

Well the tracking still shows that UPS has not gotten it yet so my guess they are holding it Monday or Tuesday. So you might get one before me.

I think the lack of "pre orders" from places like Best Buy is the fact Asus pulled the US date, and now just a few days before they plan to release it let all the retailers know they will have stock. Usually BB and other places put up product pages a month ahead of time to take pre orders, but this time I think Asus fell short on supply and had to back up. The retailers are in the "we will sell them we when we get them mode" so they don't have mad customers trying to hold them to a date they don't actually have confirmed.

My bet is Tuesday we will be able to buy them in the US, but retailers are playing it safe and not taking pre orders "just in case".

I hope they are available when the store opens on Monday. If its one thing I hate its the "available on" date and they mean ups is delivering it that day so wait all day. Some of us have jobs lol

ummmmm...you might have a bit of a wait though if your going looking for it on Monday...Launch date is the 26th - Tuesday

Our local Best Buy manager showed me their inventory screen showing they are expecting 5 Transformers in stock on Tuesday along with 5 keyboard docks. They expect nearly all will want the keyboard. He offered to let me go on their waiting list with customer service.

He said only Apple and Sony have as low a return rate as Asus. He said 80% of the computers Best Buy sells have Asus boards in them.

How is it that no one anywhere have information but you got to see this screen? When you see the screen, are there any information that would be useful or to confirm that it's available. Which best buy is it. And since you were offered a waiting list, I assume you got one? Post some proof first thing Tuesday.

beginning to doubt yourself? If you look at the facebook website, it never said it would be available at best buy. It list bestbuy.com. Nevertheless I've contacted, actual stores that asus listed and checked every website it mentioned, none of them have it. Fry, target, microcenter, staples are stores they list and none of them have in their computer system. Microcenter said perhaps wednesday or friday and that was the most positive answer I got from anyone.

And that really is the answer. Check with your local Best Buy, Fry's, Office Max, Office Depot, etc. tomorrow. The person who answering the phones may not be the manager with access to inventory charts. I get better results when I go in person.

I have no doubt that this will be an incredibly hard to find device at least at first. Within two days of their release in the UK, it sold out. Then the next shipment to the UK sold out. Then the third shipment sold out. They are not expecting more in the UK until June. If you find one and want it, get it.

I read the front page, now you are certain that there's only a couple of online retailers that have them and NO retail store will have them? So we should be looking online to order and don't bother visiting the stores?

Asus' Facebook page, on the left column, says, "on shelves 04/26" I'm taking that as there will be some stores carrying it in house. ASUS Eee | Facebook

I went to Best Buy today, and they knew nothing about the Transformer, saying "We know nothing until the shipment arrives."

That being said, they had the new Acer Honeycomb pad on display and it's terrific. Full USB port on the side, and all. The finish is a kind of beige brushed aluminum, and not plastic like the Transformer. Similar specs, but I'm not sure a keyboard is available, which I didn't want anyway.

So I bought one. Got my tablet a day early.
