anyone mad about the razrmaxx?

I could care less.

And I already knew that from your posts. I'm just a little confused as to why you two are here complaining about the Maxx when it in no way affects you.

I'm curious as to why you feel I shouldn't be here.

I don't seem to recall complaining about the Maxx itself. :sly:

Getting the feeling that some GN owners are still uncertain and are looking for a reason to feel better about their choice of phone. Sending the Razr back the other day was difficult, since I had no obvious complaints and felt the phone was the best I've used to date. Getting longer battery life was a no brainer, however, given that I was in the grace period and typically hang onto my phones for 3 years.

It's a good question, why are GN owners even interested in this Razr stuff?????

I'm done with the issue, but you're right. I don't see us in the GN thread talking about the glaring issues, with the GN.

I don't root and I get excellent battery life, 14+ hours is the norm, and I use it quite a bit. Why on earth the non-removable battery issue for the average user is beyond me. Sure, the power user would most likely need a bigger and/or replaceable battery, but then again, they wouldn't have bought the Razr.

I wish people would remember that when a power user and rooter (is that a word) get a phone, they do research on it. They were already well aware of the locked bootloader and non-removable battery prior to purchase. Why do some think that it's suddenly an issue?

I did an apparaisal for a trade on VZs website I can get 148 for my razr. So with 148. trade would leave me an etf of 200.00 There are ways to play the game

i am a GN owner ;)

i was just curious about how razr owners felt after my personal bionic nightmare

Apparently, you aren't very happy about your GN because you are posting in a Razr forum. Take off ICS and the GN is just another plastic phone :D with a crappy battery life and weaker radio.

Wait, now that I'm looking at razr posts I'm automatically grouped with being unhappy with my phone? The wife has a razr and because of that I like to lurk to see what's going on with her phone when I'm caught up in the gnex section.

Oh and no need to bash. I returned my razr for a galaxy and have never thought twice about it, but I'm not going to try to compare my e-peen size because of members like you. Enjoy your device and I'll enjoy mine.

Why not just sell it on the forums for much more than that?

I did a lot of research on the Razr when I bought it. The only interest that I had in the GN was ICS until I found out the Razr was going to get it anyway -- then the GN seemed pretty over priced when I looked at its build quality and hardware offering... 5 mega pixel camera, weaker radio,...

The MAXX would be nice, but it would be overkill for me since I am usually by an outlet or in my car. Besides, I have been able to get a good 10+ hours out of my Razr in medium use without plugging in. That's way more than my colleague who calls his GN a "battery vampire".

It's funny how GN owners-vultures keep visiting this page looking for road kill -- trying to justify their purchase of the GN. The fact of the matter is, I had a choice between the GN and the Razr and the Razr won hands down. Its just a better looking, better built piece of hardware. When it gets ICS, it will put the GN to shame. As far as I'm concerned Samsung will eventually burn the GN users in the end as they have done so many times in the past.

So you GN users that keep looking for road kill in the Razr forum try looking in the GN forum.:D The razr has already run a few GNs over.

Apparently, your wife is very intelligent, she has the Razr... Tell her I said good choice.:D

I get 14-18 on 4G with my GN with no issue. Thats using it in a brick building with 4G and 3G on, no wifi

As I said, the lady has a Razr and either way, message boards aren't restricted to your device only. Ive been now replying because your reply's are amusing

Purely opinion. The razr i had was garbage, the power button was sunken in, and the screen had terrible blotches in it that Motorola flat out calls it "normal" when every other AMOLED phone ive use including my Nexus has no issue the this.

As far as I'm concerned Samsung will eventually burn the GN users in the end as they have done so many times in the past.

This is the biggest crock ive heard all week. Motorola wont even warranty actual issues (screen blotches above). The nexus s is next to get the ICS (ahem samsung/google). Im sure the Razr you own will get ICS after the razr maxx, droid krazr and the krazr vx2 debut by the summer. Oh, btw, hows that motorola supported push to unlock boot-loaders by the end of 2011 going?

Actually, I was being conservative about the 10+ hours, its a rough estimate. I'm sure I could easily best your 14-18 hypothetical hours by using Moto's Smart actions. Just wait till the MAXX comes out or when the Razr finally gets ICS. We will see which phones people flock too. I guarantee it won't be the GN. Come on, A wimpy five megapixel camera for a Google flagship phone. Google should have went with Motorola.

Go vulture back at GN's forum -- how is that face recognition UI working?

Your ignorance regarding the concern of megapixels and how it relates to camera perfomance colors your knowledge. Motorola actions dont do anything for battery. Sure, turning the data off periodically helps battery but if i wanted that, id get a feature phone. Smart actions is great for other things. Like automatically turning on Bluetooth when I put it on a charger. Also, there are better versions of applications available in the marketplace for free that have even more options and features.

personally, i see the razmaxx as the phone moto could have released in the first place-and you know they already had the razrmaxx available for release when the razr hit the market. they developed two, then marketed the "lesser" of the two first, then are now marketing the "upgraded version".

that makes for really bad public relations, and pisses off it's customers. moto must not like repeat business....

There is no way moto could have released a "non razr" thin phone and called it razr. They would be the joke of the entire industry. The whole campaign was built on being the thinnest smart phone in the tradition of the Razr brand. Once you have established that, only then can you make a second version called the Maxx. What they could have done was release both and given us a choice. I personally would have still chosen the thin and sexy RAZR. Is there no one in these forums that values style???

I'm pretty frustrated. I just bought the Razr on Jan 2, 2012 so today is my do or die day to return the phone. If I had known that the razr maxx was coming, I would have waited. I use my phone for business and can burn through this battery. I fly a lot and do not always have the time to charge the phone on the go. In just the last couple of days my battery has gotten better (after 100 different tweeks/smart actions).

But it just bugs me that the phone is about 3 months old and there's already a new version. My only problem about returning the phone is that I don't have a backup - my wife's og droid died on New Years. So I gave her my incredible until she can renew up in Feb. If worse comes to worse, I'll have to talk my wife into taking my razr and get the razr maxx on her upgrade. (maybe that can be her valentine's day gift to me???)

But overall, I'm agitated. I would like to see moto or verizon let razr owners upgrade to maxx for say a restocking fee whether or not you're outside your return date...

Motorola actually came out and said it themselves that they are trying to slow down on phone releases so often. Now you know how the bonic owners felt when the razr came out.

I saw the pictures from the GN, the Razr pictures were better. You should have compared them yourself. Clearly you must have a special GN because your so called battery life is not what my colleague, who has a GN, is getting so I don't buy that tall tale. I forgot to mention the GN's choppy frame rate for recording video, weaker radio, lack luster calling quality, weak speaker, .....

Put ICS on the Razr and it is a better phone period.

The frustration should be on yourself. It was "unofficially" released that Motorola and Verizon would be releasing the RazrMAXX in the middle of December, so the information that a phone with a bigger battery was coming was out there for everyone to see. The only question really was "when would it be released" which no one knew until after CES.

If I were you and you really wanted the MAXX, I would take a look to see if you have any older phone (real old, like in flip phone) that is Verizon. return the Razr, and put the really old phone on your account for 2 weeks, then go out and get the Maxx when it is released.

Yes, you will be without smart phone for 2 weeks, but it will allow you to keep your upgrade and get the phone you may or may not really want.

Whats with the arrogant personal attacks?

please read this and then insert your foot in your mouth:

Verizon Galaxy Nexus vs Motorola DROID RAZR - Camera and Multimedia

Pictures very similar, with Samsung emphasizing more into the color of the image than the razr. The razrs video camera capture is better, but I personally could care less about videos.

Battery life is severely dictated on how you use your phone. Im not even going to get into that with you.

I hope I have made your visit worth while, after all that is what you visited this forum for... To try and build up your own self esteem about the purchase you made. As far as the camera is concerned I saw the two devices side by side and I liked the Razr's rendition better -- it looked more realistic. I didn't base my choice on someone else review. Then again I am not a photographer -- maybe you are.

The fact that you are here poking fun at people who bought the Razr only to find out that the MAXX was on the horizon, is a personal attack as far as I am concerned -- when you don't own and use a Razr. I personally, like my Razr and have not looked back on my decision. If you sit down and compare all the hardware that both the GN and the Razr come with, their build quality, etc... the only thing the Razr was missing to make it superior to the GN was ICS.

As far as personal attacks against you, what can I say -- I love to get peoples goat. :D I got you digging around on the internet trying to find something negative about the Razr to debate with -- lol.

So now im poking fun at razr owners? When have I ever made statement that would suggest so? I had a Razr for 45 days (thanks to best buys' return policy with silver reward zone) and I did enjoy it, however I found the GN better for me. I was very upset with the way motorola handled the screen blotch issue, as well as my power button being flush with the body of the phone after 1 week of use. there are many reason why I believe the GN is better than the Razr, but those same reasons might apply differently TO YOU. If you call googling' razr vs galaxy nexus for 2 minutes digging, then yes you got me. I hope that gives you pleasure somehow? Either way, im pretty much given up on this debacle back and forth, I really just dont care at the end of the day.
