Anyone NOT having issues?

With all the posts of issues from people it would be nice to see who ISN'T getting issues.

I have had my Prime only a day so far, but i have not experienced any issues people are reporting. My Grey Prime from Best Buy is running like a tank, and there are no build quality issues, no visible light bleed from the screen, or any other hardware issue being talked about. I noticed the WiFi thing, however, it seems to just be reporting it wrong in the software. If you look at the WiFi strength in the wifi settings, it shows it much stronger than the indicator on the ASUS settings. When doing speed tests, i am constantly getting the same speeds as i get on my laptop with perfect signal.

Really haven't noticed any issues either.

Only wifi when I am a considerable distance away from my router.

A few touch screen issues as well, the keyboard lags sometimes (thinking of getting SwiftKey tablet)

And when I pull up the multitasking bar I have to work to hit the 'x' to close the program.

i found clicking the NAME instead of the X closes the app every time. ;)

Count me in for not having any issues. No wifi or build issues.

Just heck of a time trying to find accessories and extra ac charger. Found one on excaliberpc.com for $29.

Mine is great except for gps not locking on. Other than that i couldn't be happier!!

I wish I didnt have any issues but just had to return it to bestbuy because the backlight poked through the screen in one spot. Got my money back no problems.

this is my thread of hope.

it's great to read all those with no issues.

GPS will have to work for me (not semi work, but work period). <--- tab will be used on the go a lot

You can buy the original Transformer a/c charger off eBay for around $15 and it works great. I'm using one on my Prime right now.

I got mine yesterday and the wi-fi has been good. I haven't had any graphics glitches, either. The GPS is kinda flakey. I haven't tested the GPS much, but the one time I tried to get a GPS lock in my car, it couldn't. I did finally get a lock after I stood outside my car in a parking lot for about 30 seconds. That's the only GPS testing I've done so far.

The GPS is the only issue I've seen so far on mine.

Ordered my 32GB Grey from Tiger Direct on 11/22, arrived today (12/30).

Have been playing with it for the last 2 hours, and so far so good.

  • No noticable Screen Bleeding
  • No noticable Lag issues in OS or browser
  • No major GPS Issues (Can see 11, Locked onto 9 Sats in about 15 seconds)
  • No major Wifi Isses (Range and Speed just a tad under my Galaxy S II using the router at my office. I will test again when I get home tonight.)

Attached is a picture of my GPS Test to show that it works fine. Maybe something will creep up as I use it more, but as of right now, I am very pleased with this device. Now just waiting on my keyboard dock to arrive.

Im very happy with mine in the short time Ive had it. I posted a mini review in the First Impressions sticky that everyone else seems to be ignoring :D

I just received my Grey 32 Gig Prime yesterday and it's cool. The problem I'm having is the GPS won't lock on, I'm standing outside and nothing happens... I had intended to use it to create routes while driving so i valued the GPS quite a bit. Maybe the GPS in HTC Evo 4g and what is in a tablets are of different quality.

The build on my unit is solid. i haven't noticed any issues withscreen other than flickering on the home screen when i'm moving to the next desktop... i'm thinking that's a software issue.. the GPS might be software as well. hopefully they'll resolve this soon cause I think i'll need to return until it's resolved

After receiving my 32GB Champagne tablet (dock hasn't arrived yet from Amazon), I've now played with it for about one day total. A little too early for a full review I suppose, so I'll just go ahead and add to this thread with my own thoughts.

The Prime tablet I have hasn't glitched during the asus logo bootup - yet - but if it does I'm not too worried because I'm sure that's software-side. I have not tested GPS, but that is not something I personally need in my tablet/notebook combo because I use my phone for it. First thing I noticed out of the box was how incredibly light it was - sure, call me crazy, because according to Phil's own AC review here, he thinks its 20 ounces is ridiculous, or something along those lines. But I've been playing with my sister's kindle fire for a week now, and compared to the kindle fire, the prime is a feather! Also, my brother got a first-gen Xoom, and that is also much heavier. Moving on - my first "issue" was the way the charger connects to the port..it is in there correctly, but it wiggles, and that bothers me. Perhaps that's normal for everybody else, but I haven't experienced so much wiggle before from a brand-spanking new gadget out of the box. Kind of bothers me because I begin worrying about whether it would get worse or not in the future.

Other than that issue, if you can call it that, things are smooth for me on the hardware side. Wifi hasn't been tested farther than up a flight of stairs yet, where it has 3 out of 4 bars. Not terrible, but I have a feeling if I take it much further away I'll see a drop pretty quickly. I will be testing this more in the coming days. I don't see any dead pixels (except once when the prime was installing the OTA from ASUS to .29), then they went away even on completely black screens, leaving me to believe they weren't deal pixels, just graphical glitches on the right-hand corners. Software side - okay, the stock browser is somewhat laggy at times, but not all of the time. I'm going to try out Dolphin mini HD like I have on my phone and see if it improves. However, the stock browser has a nice option to make the page take up the entire screen real estate, with no URL bar or anything, and rely on gestures on the left-side of the screen. I like that, and am curious if Dolphin mini HD has something similar to it.

I'm currently playing with Go Launcher on it, but honestly, ASUS's own launcher is really quite simple, clean, and nice! I almost don't even want to mess with Go Launcher. Right now I'm playing between the two, with neither set as "default" quite yet.

GPS is a little weak, but manages to find me within about 45 meters. Other than that, this thing is just magnificent. I'm so glad I held out for this. I'm a Sammy fan, and almost went for the 9.1. However, this thing is speedy, gorgeous, with a beautiful screen, and its really light. Plus, I wanted the expansion options, which this has plenty of. I'm a happy customer.

I have had my Prime for a couple of days and have not had any issues with it. My son came over today and played with it for a couple of hours. He also noticed nothing amiss. I am loving it!

Could you Check the GPS on your son's Prime?

I don't think people care as much for the GPS so maybe they don't really check this, they are more concerned with wifi/build quality etc.

I've had mine a week and haven't had one single issue. It has been everything I had hoped. Battery life is unbelievable! Looking forward to the keyboard!
