Check the Apple forums on screens with significant light bleeding on the iPad 2. I'm guessing they finally fixed the problems, but Apple isn't perfect either. My original iPad had weak WiFi until the first update. There was a big thread on that at the time. Apple sells so many in part because they are marketing masters. You hit it on the head by saying marketing is an issue with the Androids. When was the last time we saw a commercial on TV for the Prime, or a Sammy tablet for that matter? I don't recall seeing any. Apple and Microsoft stuff, all the time.
Got my Prime on Dec 30, and still love it and have zero issues.

Yal, I guess I am just really frustrated with the whole Asus roll out thing. This was going to be my first tablet. After countless hours of research and reading, I was really looking forward to having an awsome tablet. I am not a computer geek and would love to have something out of the box that works as it was designed to.I have an android phone and love it. (rezound) I ordered mine from xpansys in mid d ecember and it still isn't suppose to ship till end of january sometime. (if that even happens) I am not a wealthy man and can not afford to be buying tablets and or phones every whip stitch, so I was looking for what would be the best tablet today and will last for a while. Everything I read before the release was absolutely astounding, since then all I hear is problems. As I said, I am no geek and don't want to mess with problems. I was in the photograph industry for some 20 years and I certainly did not tell my potential customers that I would do their photography for them but they would have to wait for me to get a camera. I am all about customer service. (seems to be dying) What a shame. I believe people don't buy what you have, they buy why you do what you do. Hell, we all know there are plenty of tablets out there that will satisfy most users. Sorry for the venting
