Anyone picking this up on AT&T?

I pre-ordered the Jet Black on the first day and AT&T has already charged me and now my ship date is between Sept 11-13. The original ship date was between Oct 1-2. Has anyone else have this happen?

Hmmm, that has me thinking about doing a pre-order. However, I don't see the pink available for pre-order on AT&T's website. Also, I have had trouble doing no-commitment pre-orders in the past. I'm not sure if it is easier now, though.

I would have it I hand't kicked AT&T to the curb a month ago. Not that I want to be on Verizon but I couldn't deal with the service.

Mine stated it will ship from 9/11-9/13. I hope they send it early. Has this ever happened to someone before?

Interesting. I ordered today and it says pending confirmation.

I pre-ordered on Friday the 6th, and this morning received an email saying the order was processed.

Looking at the order status details I see the following:

Item Status: Preparing to ship
Shipping Date: 10/01/13-10/02/13

I've gotten burned before with AT&T on their pre-order crap, so I'm hoping this time around
they ship it within a reasonable amount of time.

Last Year I had AT&T preorder an S3 for me, and I had it literally 3 days later. More than likely you will get your phone early. I wonder if AT&T will let me pre order a phone off contract?

Mine is in the preparing to ship stage also with the early release date. I hope it ships early so I can sell my iphone and make my money back.

Why not add a line to your account and do alternate upgrades every year. I've been doing that for 3 years. And I always get what I paid for the last phone. That's what I'm doing now. Selling my 32gb iPhone 5 for $325 and purchasing the Note 3. I only pay $10 a month for the extra line. I gave that phone to my mom and she uses it but never do upgrades so I use her upgrade.

How were you able to add another smartphone line for just $10?

Add the smartphone line on the account. You are locked in to a 2 year contract but it doesn't mean it has to stay a smartphone line for two years. So you pickup an old flip phone or messaging phone you have in a drawer or find one on eBay. Swap that smartphone line to that old non smartphone device and put the new smartphone on your number. Next year when that awesome new phone is released then you can upgrade your line. Then the following year when your non smartphone is ready for upgrade you do an alternate upgrade. Meaning you will use another line to upgrade your main line. And every year you will have a upgrade available. The key is staring the new line in the middle of your 2 year contract. Hope this helps.

I forgot to add..... Sell the current smartphone you upgraded to a year ago. With the iPhone I always got what I paid for it or more one year after having it. It didn't matter which route I used to sell it..... Gazelle, best buy trade-in or ebay. It always paid for the next upgrade. I've been doing this since the iPhone 4. I had the iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and now I'm selling the 5 on gazelle for $325 and I have til the 15th of Oct to ship it. I paid $299 for it.

I thought of that but like I said my niece works for AT&T.
So I get discounts that makes it just a tad more with the program NEXT then adding a line to my account. Also I don't have to come up with $300 every time when I want to upgrade after 12 months....just pay the tax of the phone which is $40!

I just spoke with an AT&T agent and they confirmed that it will indeed ship from September 11-13 for those who received that date. So I'm hoping it will ship then and I can have it by next week! Stay tuned!

Are you doing this on AT&T?

Well I just spoke with another representative and she said that those early dates was a glitch so the phones with that early date will actually ship on October 1.

Sucks! But oh well.

I've been doing the Alternate upgrade since the iphone 4s. And I'm on AT&T. I've done it at Best Buy twice and once at AT&T. I upgraded my wife's phone @ Best Buy once using the Alternate upgrade.

Thanks for sharing. I had always assumed you were required to keep the data plan.

I preordered a 32GB Jet Black version online. It just switched from 'processing' to 'preparing to ship'.

I'm assuming that I won't see this until early October. Would be cool to get it sooner!

This phone will be great..really looking forward to it. If I could change one thing, it would be on-screen buttons. I've become used to them after having my Nexus 4 for a while.

You have to keep the data plan only if you keep a smartphone on the line. By switching to a dumbphone you can drop all those text/data requirements.

I tried to preorder last night online and it told me at checkout, after going through the whole process and finally submitting the order, that I had a past due balance so I could not complete my purchase. I have a current balance, but it's not due until the 27th of this month. Do you really have to pay your bill early to add another line and preorder? I would think they can at least wait until it's actually past due to block current customers from adding a new line and buying a $300 phone, no?

Your account has to be current on any purchases.... you may want to go into a store and have them over-ride the preorder.
