Anyone picking this up on AT&T?

That's ridiculous. I don't have a problem paying the bill but I don't see why I should have to before the due date. Anyway, I changed my mind on the purchase now.

I preordered my Note III a week or more ago from AT&T

If we are being told October 2nd release date, when do we actually get the phone?

In the past, for Apple devices, you got the iPhone delivered to your door on release day. That is because Apple shipped the phones out early enough to ensure timely delivery.

What does AT&T do? I know they are offering free 2-day delivery, but does that mean they ship the phones out October 2nd and they don't arrive till the 4th?

Just hoping someone here has experience with how AT&T handles release day shipping.

This is a post paid service. If your bill is due on the 27th. Then the billing cycle was completed before that, and the bill is already generated. Technically that money is due to them already and they are just giving you till the 27th to pay it. I know the company that I work for gives like 2 weeks for the bill to generate ship and then for you to return with payment.

Release date is October 1-2 that's when AT&T stores will have it and so should you if you pre-order it. In some cases it will come early and I know that sometimes AT&T will get phones in earlier then expected.....the Note 2 was in a full week early last year then it's releas date.

Just for clarification please...

So, from past experience, if you preorder a new phone from AT&T you will get it on release date.

Also...

If the note 3 arrives a full week early (as did the Note 2 last year) will that be passed on to customers? Could we get the Note III even earlier if that is the case?

Yes and yes....

Yes, but it's not "past due", right?

I think you are confusing Past Due, with Due. Technically because this is a post paid service the payment is due as soon as the billing cycle is done. Mine for instance is from 14th -13th. So on the 14th ATT runs there billing and bill you. Those funds are due because that cycle is over. Now no company expects you to really pay the day your cycle is over especially without a bill. Plus the logistics of billing everyone on the day the cycle ends can be difficult. So generally speaking that means they provide 2 - 3 weeks to send the bill to you in the mail, for you to write a check, and then mail it in. After that extra period that is chose to be reasonable for all of that you are past due.

I just checked my last bill and it was like 4 weeks that they gave on my bill.
