Just called my Corp. VZW store in Raleigh, NC. Spoke with a nice sales agent, he checked with his boss and told me it was still a go for tomorrow. Said that they had a demo unit (could not tell me about the stock in the back). Made an appointment for 1:00PM EST tomorrow to pick it up.
Final note, he did give me his cell number and told me to call at 9AM tomorrow morning so that he could go in the back and pull one for me (told me they cannot hold devices overnight for customers).
Here's to hoping nothing else comes out of the Big Red HQ by then

I really hate this store because every time I walk in there like 3 Verizon reps run over and start humping your leg until they find out that your not ready to renew your contract .... thens its the ol..."I don't know nothin game." ..... which reminds me, now I have to change my pants....

Oddly the Niagara Falls Blvd one said no and the Walden Galeria Kiosk said they have a box of them and will sell them tomorrow.

I was abt to do the same, but got the call yesterday. Tomorrow, shortly after noon, I hope to have the GN in hand.
I called the manager at a corporate store here in orlando and he said it was still a go for tomorrow. He is gonna call me at COB today and give me an update and set me up with a 9 AM apt if its still on. He also informed me that he was talking to me on HIS new Galaxy Nexus and said I was going to love it. Pretty excited right now but not getting my hopes too high until that phone call tonight.
I wish the local corp stores here were as helpful with making appts and such... all claim they have no idea, and don't even seem to care.

Just called my local Verizon store and asked the guy a bunch of questions (what's the interest been like, whats the best thing I can do to guarantee I get one, inventory etc)
He was like let me go check how many we actually have for launch. Comes back like a few minutes later and says they have 30 - he took down my name and number and said If i'm there when they open i'll have my name on one
SOO HAPPY
Just wanted to update that I got a call from the same rep confirming my "appointment". He started out by saying that they got confirmation that the phone is launching tomorrow.. then he paused, someone said something in the back - and he said well were 99% lol
He said that he'll be there at 8am - pre-processing all of the people who had reserved the phones and that it would be waiting in a bag in the back!!
Sounds like its in the bag for me (literally)

The stores are supposed to play dumb until the phone is launched. I'm not sure why people are calling their stores for information.

Seems like info is all over the place. Was out running errands and Christmas shopping and stopped by 3 stores. Here's what I was told:
Best Buy - They have plenty of stock, but couldn't tell me exactly how many. No news on release other than "soon". No accessories in store.
Verizon Wireless Corporate Store - Have some stock. The rep said release, "hopefully by next week". No demo units. Forgot to ask about accessories.
Go Wireless Verizon Store - Me: "Any news on the galaxy?" Rep: "Available tomorrow. Here, let me grab one and left you feel it". Came from the back with the white box of glory. Couldn't activate it because he said they didn't have a way to do the micro-sims yet. But he then went back and brought out a few cases to show me. One hard plastic white generic case and a Case-mate 2 part case that looked similar to the Otterbox Commuter. Rep told me he had plenty and to come back first thing in the morning to get one.
