Anyone putting stock in Dec 15th?

Just tried 2 local corporate stores. 1st one didn't have any info, and the 2nd, only after pressed a bit and going to her manager, indicated that I could schedule an appointment to come in and buy one in the morning, but they don't have any in stock and it would have to be shipped later. Seriously? #WTFVZW?

Think this might be my first post here, though I have been on this forum constantly the last week or so waiting for news of the release. Anyway, decided to finally call a couple of stores around Nashville. First store in Hermitage said they didn't have a date, and didn't have any in stock. But they were expecting a couple more shipments today and tomorrow morning. Called the Mt. Juliet store and the dude said they got an email today saying it was postponed again, but he would add me to the call list. But he mentioned they had plenty of stock.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm hoping it's just a smokescreen and I'll get a positive call tomorrow morning.

Edit to add: I told the guy at the Mount Juliet store (who said it was delayed again) that I've seen lots of reports of people getting calls to pick up their Nexus tomorrow and he just chuckled.

I got the same thing out of both dealers in hermitage as well. Good to know mt juliet has some or will or whatever it is that's going on with the release.

At some point... someone at Verizon Wireless Corporate needs to be terminated. These absolute cluster releases are becoming the norm for them and not the exception. They have poor planning, poor testing, and poor execution abilities.

They don't communicate to their customers and when they do, you get mixed messages from their corporate stores and no consistent message from their call center.

I agree. i mean if they have a gag order and nobody can talk then why not say we cannot talk about it. it is funny one day they say we have no stock and then for some another day they say we have had stock for awhile. At least have the employees be on the same page with one another lol.

i' really doubting the release of this as tomorrow they wouldve announced it by now and yeah i even heard it myself from 2 stores that it will be out tomorrow and yet some stores don't know a thing which sounds so dumb idk why they cannot just release the phone and actually be honest with their customers which are the ones keeping their company alive

Remember, probably at least 3/4 of their business is walk-ins who have no idea what the latest greatest phone is. Those people aren't sitting around refreshing the AC forum every five minutes to get the latest news.

Apple has successfully created a business based on pre-release consumer anticipation, but Verizon has no need to do that.

First of all, punctuation is your friend. You should use it.

Second of all, for all we know they'll announce it tomorrow saying 'its on sale now' or later tonight.

Corporate store called about my appointment tomorrow. Said he had the Nexus in stock and is ready to sale it to me tomorrow morning! Can't wait!!!!! Originally when I called a few days ago they would only talk about the RAZR.

OK. Here's where I stand from what I know at the moment. Dec. 16 is very much a working date now. But I'm also told Dec. 15 is still on the table.

In other words, nothing's really changed. Verizon's not 100 percent yet -- and, literally, these things have changed hour to hour. It's ridiculous. But I wouldn't mention Dec. 16 if I didn't trust my sources. So maybe Thursday, maybe Friday.

Edit: And see how quickly things change? Dec. 15 it is.

What I really think:

This has gotten way out of hand. Did I really see sites asking Verizon to announce when a press release will be sent out? That's bush-league from people who should know better. Verizon will announce it when they're good and ready, same as it ever was.

And when Verizon says it'll be out this year, that's the exact same thing they said in October. So nothing's changed. Move on. Not news.

If you haven't seen that Galaxy Nexus simulator yet, it's pretty slick. Hardly like holding the device, but it's a nice way to see how to do things in Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you haven't yet read our review of the GSM Galaxy Nexus, GO READ IT. We should have a Verizon review unit soon. But I'm really not expecting it to be grossly different than the GSM version I've been using since Thanksgiving. The battery life with LTE is a big question. And I'm curious to see how much thicker it feels. But otherwise? Same phone, folks.

And now, I'm going back to work, which involves plenty of things other than the Galaxy Nexus. You folks play nice.
