Anyone received the new update that is being pushed by Google to fix multi-touch issues

How do you force the update?

Try clearing data on the Google Framework Services app (under All apps column). I then reboot device. Rebooting has often produced update for me when not rebooting won't. If update isn't available to you after doing this you're just not going to get it OTA until Google is ready for you to have it.

Funny thing is mine didn't have the mulitouch issue, and was pretty much flawless until the update bricked it :-) All good after the reset though.

Hook Em! I went to UT.

Both my parents went to UT too, and I'm a native Texan. But, went to high school and college in GA. Still no update in GA, headed to Mn on business tomorrow. I'm not sure since there is no carrier push (like a phone) if location makes a difference but, maybe it will show up there in the next couple of days.

People criticized me for suggesting that the best way to ensure a smooth OS update was to perform a factory reset prior to installing.

Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work for me. Guess I have to just wait

I had to do the Google Framework Services trick 4-5 times before the update started.

I'm in the same position. Woke up to use my nexus just to notice that it's stuck on the nexus logo. Why would the update brick my device? I'm unrooted with s-on and stock recovery.. I would hate to have to manually go through the process of restoring it and having to start fresh. I avoided rooting for this reason in the first place!

May not have been the update! My device was working great, in heavy use for two weeks and not a hitch (nor any updates) and then one morning it would not boot past the x. I factory reset, and the next morning it did the same darn thing. Now a replacement is on the way from Google.

This happened to me and needed to return and get a replacement.

I'll tell you, shook my confidence in the device a bit! Hope the new one will be good. Not too fun to have to factory reset with no chance to back up first. Lost a video and a photo I wanted to keep.

Got it this morning, but did not notice any sort of issues before so can't comment if it fixed anything.

Cleared data in google framework services and rebooted the device. Just installed for me. I had noticed some touchscreen lag before but it wasn't that bothersome. Will see if it happens with the update and will post in a day or so.

Cleared data in the framework services and went straight to system update and voila. I just like updates so I got tired of waiting. I didn't have any of the issues though. Hope everyone's tablet is up to par with this update!

Well, I'm gonna wait a week and then buy back nexus 7 to see if my luck changes. I gave up and returned my last one (after 4 were bad) about 2 weeks ago.
Kinda shocked Asus missed such a huge issue since it's still an issue for some. I hope Google dumps Asus for the next Nexus

Complete opposite for me, I hope ASUS gets the Nexus 10 also.

Got the update last night after I had to do my fourth complete wipe of the system because it got stuck on the x again and the got the dead little android guy. I only seem to get this it seems when I do a full shutoff. I hole this is a software problem and nor hardware.

Hi:

Clearing data from Google Services Framework will force the update only when available for your device. Who knows how Google sends out OTA updates--serial number, region, hardware??? As soon as the update was announced, I started clearing data and cache and force stopping Google Services Framework. It didn't do a bit of good until the update was available to me on Friday evening. Once available, it will update it right away but it isn't going to bring the update before Google deems it ready for you--no matter how many times you clear Google Services Framework.

Asus sent out updates for tablets from east coast to west coast. I have no idea how Google decides the order of updates for tablet owners. I got my Nexus 7 2012 update a couple of days before my Nexus 7 2013.

I feel you. Since this is a Nexus device, and therefore no SD card, I really advise turning on G+ auto backup (free) or dropbox. That will preserve those precious pics and vids. You can never know when you need a factory reset or the device is lost/stolen. I once had a hard drive crash and lost an entire year of documented memories. I have been leveraging the cloud ever since.

You clearly aren't following the touch screen issues then. It isn't just a handful of people, mate. The worst part? I can't even find a working one... it's that bad.
