This question has probably been asked 1,000,000 times, but search engines on these forums are clunky. I have grown weary of itunes and gather that the 10.1 is more of a free standing unit. Would I miss my Ipad if I switched?

I just switched over. I have been back and forth the last 2 years. I had the original Note 10.1, but ended up getting the iPad Air 128GB. Apple has it right when it comes to smooth performance and apps that are optimized for their devices. But there were times I just missed with the Android system and how files were handled. I just prefer having a file folder system where I can drag and drop files on the go and sync that folder when necessary with services like Dropbox or Drive. Just as of recently I got the Note 10.1 2014 Edition. With 32GB and using 64GB microSD card, I would say it is more than enough for what I need. I like the OTG adapter where I can use external USB thumb drives to move files with co-workers.

iOS and Android are just different systems. It's going to come down to personal preference and what works with your work-flow and only you can really answer that.

I have an Ipad 4 and my Note10.1 2014. Which one do I reach for?
90% of the time the Note. Because it just works!!
Maybe it is Android familiarity (I have had a few Android phones/tablets) but then again the multitasking, Pen, the "back" button, and lack of IOS "control" make it a better experience.
If I had to get rid of one the Ipad would go.

I was talked into the ipad because we use at work. Wasn't a fan and still not. I was finally able to sell it and have had the 10.1 for a few months. Just got the tab 4 8.0 and I love both of them. Use a lot. Samsung are my favorites. Note 3 phone too.

I prefer the iPad Air. I had the Galaxy note pro 12.2 for awhile and also the note 10.1. Mine started to slow down quickly. Also I prefer the tablet optimized apps for the iPad. I do miss the s pen and a few other features like torrent, etc but I still like my iPad better.

I want to sell my iPad Air for Note 10.1. I'm not sure if I could find someone willing to trade with me. I would love one.

Scribbled from the mighty pen of my Galaxy Note 4!

Update: I have used this Note 10.1 more times in one month than the iPad Air for 6 months. The S-Pen feature is what drives it home for me. I bought the full size S-Pen with eraser and that made writing on this thing as close to a paper and pen environment.

I have been finally been able to catch up on movies. Drag and dropping video files couldn't be any simpler.
