I would have to ask if you want a phone first device or a tablet first type of device. That would make up your mind quickly.
The GS3 is definitely h phone first, with possibilities of having tablet like function secondly. The Note 2 obviously is tablet like first and phone like second.
Think about what you would use the device for primarily. If you say taking notes or something like that, then you would lean towards the Note 2. If it is phone calls and SMS, then the S3 would be a better choice.
Portability, the S3 would win due to size of the device, but for screen real estate and the S Pen, only the Note 2.
So really, you need to weigh what you need/want with what you are using the device for on a daily basis. That is really the only way to decide.
Me personally, I have the Note 1 (wife is using it now) as well as the SGS3, so I will be relieving myself of my SGS3 to purchase a Note 2. The Note 2 will go hand in hand with my Note 10.1 for all of my notes and such.
