Anyone still uses htc one m8 ?

I still use mine from 2 years ago as my second device. Predominantly as a media player and casual browsing and it's still going strong. Mine is still in mint condition.

Both my wife and I use HTC M8 for 2+ years now. Everything went great but the Micro USB port failed on both phones right around 2 year mark. Had the local repair shop replaced the USB port. However, other things went wrong after the repair. The microphone on my wife's phone isn't working, but the speaker phone works and the phone jack works. I got my USB port replaced today, but I have noticed the middle section of the touch screen does not work.
According to the technician, HTC is prone to secondary defect after the case is open. However, I am still investigating the claim. Stay tuned!

I still use mine and love it. Had to change the micro usb port has well, it cost 20 euros to do it. The guy cleaned the speakers grill while he was on it and the sound is once again super clear and loud. I was starting to think that the speakers were "tired". Battery life is not the same after all this heavy use but he advised me to wait a while longer. It's the best smartphone I ever had and I love it just as much as when I got it.

Oh yes, I still use mine (daily driver) for me! This phone has passed all of my expectations for what a smartphone should be.. I really love this device and I really think I'm going to keep it until it completely craps out on me.. It deserves to be used until it dies, HTC really made a good one!!

Nope... The battery on this phone was brutal. Even with it on extreme power saving mode it would drain 40% in 4-5 hours. I just went back to iPhone and could not be happier.

I've been using the m8 for almost 2 years. Prior to this I had the m7 which was great also but had a few flaws.

The htc one m8 lasted longer than I thought it would for me. The build quality is great and looks amazing as it does feel to hold the device. Even over time, my view on this hasn't changed. Sure it's got a few little drop bumps but it has withstood some pretty crazy drops in fairness to it and still looks really good.

Although the camera is better than the m7, it is definitely one of the weak points of the phone. It does quite well in low light but when you compare to the latest flagships with 4k video and breathtaking image quality (galaxy s7/htc 10) then the camera is starting to show its age in this phone. Sure for quick social media posts the front camera isn't all that bad but anything more than this it does fall short. Camera is probably the biggest shortfall for the m8

Performance is generally great! I do notice the odd few slow downs but majority of the time, it zooms through everything with just 2gb ram. I have struggled to play some of the heavy graphics games with the phone as it just stutters (star trek timelines) but most games work fine but other than this it handles most general apps flawlessly and quickly.

Battery life is definitely good in my opinion. It does depend on usage but I have easily had 6+ hours on screen time out of the phone and sometimes get 2+ days with light usage. With heavy usage I still need to charge daily but it does last more than most phones out there still on power. It's about 30% more efficient than the m7 I had prior to this also. With power save you can even get longer as it throttles the phone and powers the screen brightness. Charging is 2-3 hours for standard and about half this for quick charge 2.0

Android updates with HTC has all but stopped now for the m8 which is a shame. I was hoping this phone would get android N considering the previous m8 updates have been poor but it is now 2 years old.

Worth noting android kitkat was pre loaded on the device and was really snappy, as soon as android lollipop was released it had all sorts of issues with performance and battery life and then the latest Android marshmallow update seems to have settled everything and helped with battery life.

It's still a great general phone and would take more features of a potential future phone for me to consider changing. The htc 10 does look nice though with the brilliant camera and fingerprint sensor now included! I still wouldn't upgrade yet as this phone still does everything I need with few issues

I agree with you in everything, except battery life. I've never had more than 3h of screen on time, ever. And things got worse with Lollipop indeed.

I've been thinking about replacing the battery, anyone using this great smartphone for 2 years that did that can share with us if there's noticeable difference?

Overall I've been happy with the battery life, but now my phone shuts off abruptly with anywhere from 30% to 15% left on my battery meter. I'm holding out until we see what the new Pixel phones are going to be. I'm leaning towards a new HTC 10 unless the Pixel really wows me. I'm mainly just waiting for a nice sale on a Verizon HTC 10, or a great used deal.

The M8 was a great phone and I have enjoyed using mine. It has some quirks (like running really hot on a QC2.0 charger) but it's been solid and dependable for me.

You can always replace your battery, since it seems faulty. It will cost you like 40 / 50 bucks on a repair shop or 20 if you do it yourself. Since it's very hard to do it I'm taking it to a shop, I think it's worth it. I don't have your symptoms, though... Yet.

Let's see what the Pixel and the HTC Ocean has to offer, then. But I doubt it will be this good. This was the best smartphone I ever had.

My m8 top speaker is distorting the sound which is very disappointing. The repair shop replaced the speaker 3 times, to no avail. Since I otherwise love this phone I am very sad because this issue is indeed very annoying.

Yep still using it even though I bought the 10 for months ago. I use it as my second device, I find the color calibration in the M8 superior to the 10, the 10 has a redish tint compared to the M8. Also love the IR blaster and stereo speakers. The only thing that I regret is upgrading from KitKat and the fact that overuse probably killed the battery quicker than I would have liked. If I use it fully I get about 2 hours charge from it. So needs to be used near a charger, but since it doesn't leave the house it's no problem!

I payed 40 euros and a repair shop replaced the battery. Why don't you do the same?

I just replaced my Battery, vibration motor and USB port. Videos can be found on YouTube and parts on eBay. The USB port was failing me, i could live with battery life and lack of vibration. But I could no longer charged the phone. I had fixed my PSP years ago, so after watching some videos I thought what the heck have I got to lose. Also, if I was opening the device I might as well change all things that do not work well. After spending 1.5 hours on carefully replacing the items, I was able to put it back together and it is good as new. I am now waiting on the new Samsung Note 8. FYI - I did see how easily they fixed my wife's iphone screen. The hardest part is taking the case off. The parts including tools were about $30 in total. The most useful tool is the pryer and guitar picks.

My problem now it that the top speaker is distorting the sound when on top 2 notches in volume. The repair man couldn't get it fixed and broke 2 sets of speakers in the process. Other than that I love it, specially after replacing the battery. I hope that the HTC 11 has all the features I definitely find attractive in a smartphone (dual front speakers is a must) and maybe then I'll think about upgrading. I thought about buying the HTC 10 now for 500 euros but I think it's the worst time to do it in terms of value, don't you agree?

Mine is still perfect, but slow compared to my iPhone 7+ that I use for work. Looking forward to a new HTC phone in April or May when the Snapdragon 835 is available. It is time. Just feels old compared to iPhone, and rest of family has HTC 10s. Those are much faster.
