Anyone switch their Note 4 for a N6 and are happy they did??

Well I'm making the plung. I just bought a N6 and sold my N4. I'm looking forward to it. Hope I'm making a great move. I'm on Verizon btw.

I'm on VZ as well with Note 4. I'm interested to hear what you have to say after having the phone for few days.

I'm not sure if this qualifies, but I had a Note 4 for the 14 day trial and brought in a Nexus 6 for the last 7 days to compare them head to head. For me, the Nexus 6 won. It all depends on what you value.

The Note 4 screen was more detailed for viewing videos. If I didn't have them together I wouldn't have realized this, but Note 4 is better for video viewing. For reading text, web pages, etc, the difference was minimal.

Note 4 battery goes more than a day easily. Nexus 6 battery makes it to the end of the day, but not a lot to spare.

I didn't find myself using the s-pen nor the multi window. For me, the user experience is way better on the Nexus 6 for the things I do. The speakers are immersive compared to the puny speaker on the Note 4 and the 6" screen really draws you in when watching videos. I also own the HTC One M8 and these speakers are louder. Nexus 6 has the loudest speakers for music.

Of course the Nexus 6 is super fast and the Note 4 has the famous hesitation.

Nexus 6 is a little awkward in the hand, Note 4 feels easier to control.

I'm not a camera guy. Everybody says the Nexus 6 camera is good and the Note 4 camera is great, and I'll accept that although I never compared them. Plenty of websites have these types of comparisons.

In summary I returned the Note 4 because the Nexus 6 is fast, great speakers, latest updates, huge colorful screen, stock Android. I have that feeling where I feel in a good mood and happy when holding the Nexus 6.

You should have the Note 4 if you need the pen features, killer battery, or the absolute best screen.

Sold my note 4 Monday after getting the nexus 6. No regrets. Love it. Speakers are great. Phone feels great. I've been very impressed with camera. Screen is awesome too.

I own both phones. I go between them every week. There are times when I switch after a couple of days. They're both great phones. I couldn't imagine not having either phone.

The N6 is big and there are times I don't want to carry. Having said that, I love stock Android. The phone is really smooth from every aspect. I've done numerous comparisons with similar wallpapers and the N4 has a slight edge. This doesn't mean the N6 is bad, but you can see a slight advantage when side by side. The curve on the back actually feels better tin the hand than the square N4. With that said, the N4 is lighter and feels better in the pocket.

From a camera perspective, it is really hard to determine which is better. I truly think it is subjective. The N4s pictures are sharper but I don't know if that is always a good thing. The N6 pics are not soft- just not as sharp as the N4. I don't like taking pictures with any phone in low light, so I have no opinion. The N4 excels in providing options on taking pictures without doing hand gymnastics. In my opinion, this is where Touchwiz shines. Having the ability to say cheese and a picture is taken is worth the price of admission. Also, you have the option of using the heart rate sensor to take pictures as well.

As for battery life, this is a push for me. I'm a heavy media consumer and use all of my phones similarly. I don't conduct tests to see how long I can go before recharging. I have a spare battery for my N4 and a portable battery pack for the N6. If I'm at my job or home office, I plug in between 30-60%. There is just no reason for me not to have a charged phone. Lastly, I charge my phones at night. There is never a time when I feel I'm in danger of not having enough juice for any reason. When I hear folks say the phone doesn't last more than 24 hours, I wonder what do you truly expect from a device using so much data among other things. Why not just charge the phone overnight? It is something I'll never understand. It is also something I don't forget as it is right on my night stand. In any event, I think the majority of people can easily get through an 8 hour work day with these phones.

You just can't go wrong with either phone. You already know both phones are big, so your reason(s) not to keep should be for other reasons. I can understand how folks can pick either phone. I've decided to keep both and have the best of both worlds.

I sometimes wonder if people are up for 36 hours the way battery life is criticized lately.

I am in the dilemma to leave my Note 4 to a Nexus 6 Touchwiz is starting to aggravate me. I had a Nexus 5 and for one year my phone was running buttery smooth. With the Note 4 I have stutters and slowdowns that have become annoying. My only fear is reviews say battery, screen and camera are not very good. I fear leaving it for that, but sometimes reviews are not very precise. Well for me now Battery is the most important I don't need 2 days I just need battery life that could last me 1 full day

After having both the N6 and N4 I can tell you that the N6 will get you through the day. I really haven't noticed any real measurable difference in real world. My wife's N4 that she still has always dies before my N6 each night. Her phone dies around 10:30 each night but she's up and out of the house by 5:30 a.m. I don't leave until 8. When I go to bed I always have about 30% left . All of that is subjective because she works in a building with wifi but she never connects. I work in a school with wifi and always connect. I rarely touch my phone other than to swipe away notifications but she's on hers all the time checking Facebook.

Regardless, when I had both and used both under the same circumstances and same usage patterns, I really didn't notice any difference. When you are thinking about cameras, it really is the difference between user error that causes most differences. Wiping off the fingerprints from the lense, holding still and recognizing lighting makes the difference here. No real difference to note. Sometimes my N4 took better pics sometimes my N6 did. Both are great, I just couldn't stand touchwiz any longer. Made my N4 sooooo laggy.

Thanks for Reply dude. That is where I am at, Touchwiz is really getting under my skin now. in the beginning I did not mind it, but the little hiccups here and there get annoying

I like the size and feel of the Note 4. Two things I would change before I leave my Nexus 6.

1. I would install Cyanogen Mod 12. I hate TouchWiz

2. The buttons on all Samsung products being reversed make boogie.

I had a Note 2,3 and 4, and switched to the N6 (but also had the N4 and N5). The only thing I miss from the Note series is the s-pen.

It doesn't. I have owned every Note and the first thing I do is load Nova Launcher which eliminates the TouchWiz issues. No comparison from the camera, display or battery life. You should get updates quicker on the N6. The speakers are louder on the N6 and the larger display is nice but not enough of a size difference over the Note 4. The Note 4 allows me to listen and respond to text messages hands-free in my 2014 Ford Fusion with Ford MyTouch with Samsung's Car Mode. I can't do that with the N6, there aren't any reliable third party apps that work. The display is not as readable outside as the N4 either.

I kept the Note 4 for 2 weeks prior to selling it after I received my Nexus 6. I switched back and forth several times to gauge how I 'felt'. In the end, I finally sold the Note 4 and am extremely happy. Touchwiz did bother me, but of course that shouldn't be a factor as you can swap out the launcher any time you want. What made me switch was the feel of the Nexus 6. It just feels better in the hand, and I really like the aesthetic. The Note 4 really just feels like a flat metal rectangular brick. The Nexus just feels so sleek with its curved back.

I know this sounds superficial, but really at this point comparing cpu, screen, and battery life, there really is very little difference. For me it was the feel of the phone. I do hope Google adds more software features. Pure Android still lacks many of the niceties you find in Touchwiz and Sense.

Only held N6 in hand and used Note 4 for about a week (returned for now), now have OnePlus One and might switch to N6 with Project Fi.....

When I got OPO it was a huge phone compared to my N5, then I got Note 4 and its even bigger, N6 is so big that it covers Note 4 completely....and that worries me. Note 4 feels very good in hand and no finger prints are visible, quality made device for sure despite plastic back which also feels great. S-pen, multi-window are somewhat useful features but not for everyday. Note 4 has better camera and display then N6 I suppose, and Touchwiz has a nice feature that combines LTE + Wifi to boost downloads < very useful to me.

As far as battery goes, I dont care if its 15 hours 24 hours or 36, Its all about SOT(Screen On Time), I dont know about N6 or N4, but my current OnePlus One has the best battery I have every had in phone. I can get about 7-8 hours of screen time with browsing web, playing FIFA15, and watching Youtube....If I can get 6-7 hours from Nexus 6 then it would be pretty acceptable for me.

I did....Nexus 6 is the best phone I have owned. I have had them all almost no complaints at all after 4 weeks. If you get the Nexus 6 make sure you turn off all unnecessary running programs ..turn your animation down to .5 from 1.0 it's easy to do. I like the fact there is zero bloat ware on the phone . I am getting 24+ hours per charge. The built in qi charging is very convenient also.

Did you turn your animation down to .5 from 1.0? My Nexus is about 50% faster. Better battery life also....phone works less. It's under the admin fields...there are 3 animations to adjust. 1.0 is set at time of manufacturing ..it's not necessary. Try it.

I have had note 4 since it launched in the USA but looking forward for the 2015 nexus. I'm ready to make the switch to pure stock android. Screen has to be at least 5.7 or else it's going to be Note 5.
