Anyone Switch to iPhone Max??

Could not have said it better myself. Don’t give a rats *** for battery tests :) My Xs Max has a much better battery life than my Note 9. And that’s every day and not just some days

I woke up this morning at 4am to check RadarScope on storms in the area. Then unplugged my charger. Four hours later my battery was still 100 percent. An Android loses 1 pct per hour just because of its always on screen and in my experience 3 to 5 pct per hour if you do nothing. That’s what my battery app was telling me. That said, a year from now I’ll probably buy a Note/Galaxy 10 because iOS just bores after a period of time. I’ll give up battery life for widgets and customization.

iPhones software rounds up so when you think your iPhone is at 100%, it can actually be as low as 96% before the system will show a lower %. Macs are the same exact way.

I learned they were doing this many years ago when I started jailbreaking phones and installed an app called BatteryLife. The iPhone would show 100% for sometimes up to 10 hrs later and the app would show the battery was really 96% or so. Android phones are simply showing you the true %.

So here’s my rationale. Like I said I go back and forth every year. And I own each flagship or close to each flagship. And the battery tests that come out each year are worthless. Because people don’t use the phones like the tests are testing. I always need to recharge Androids sometime during the day and with the big iPhones I never do unless I go crazy playing games. That’s my experience ever since Apple introduced the 6plus. I’ve owned the 6plus, 7plus, Max, S8plus, Note 7 (before the kaboom). And before that it was all Android including Note 5,2,1.

We're not taking about the S8, Note 7,5,2, or 1. It is being compared to the 4000mah Note 9. I don't really care about these pissing contests and my battery is better than your battery arguments between Samsung and Apple because Apple products just don't interest me - no matter what the battery does. Some will say Note 9 lasts longer, some will claim iPhone does. It may depend on you particular handset, how they are configured, and your usage patterns. I also think something that plays a (maybe major) role is which one you -want- to be better. I am just glad that Samsung finally listened to me and went 4000mah - like I have been telling them to do for years. Lol
I am satisfied with the battery performance of my Note.

For me, as long as my current phone is better than my previous phone that I replaced it with I have not many complains:)

I’m pretty familiar how the iPhones stick over 98 pct a long time. Still the Androids will drain at a constant rate that surpasses iPhone at idle. At 50 percent if you do nothing with iPhone for an hour it will not change or maybe a percent. Android will drain at 3 or 4 times the rate at idle. I’m not doing the pissing contest as I didn’t start the thread. Not interested in creating hard feelings. Just giving my 2 cents based on a lot of experience.

A lot of that has to do with your carriers signal. I have two Note 9s, one is on T-Mobile and the other on AT&T. I can barely get the AT&T Note 9 to last a day with an hour of screen time if I'm lucky while the T-Mobile Note 9 will last three days and give me 5 hrs screen time.

My unlocked S9+ is the same as my T-Mobile Note 9, it will last for days and give me hours of screen time.

I can leave the T-Mobile Note 9 at home when I go to work and come home and the battery % is at 98% after 9 hours.

I did. 2 things I didn’t like. 1 started having the dreaded pixelation on the camera a week after buying and 2 never cracked a screen on any device. Still don’t know what did it never dropped the phone but have a 2” crack on the screen. Getting it repaired today then selling it

Believe it or not bluetooth isn't the normal for everyone. There are still people without bluetooth in their car.

I just sold my 2003 Buick which had a JVC after market Bluetooth. Now I have a 2006 Chevy with a MP3 and Sirius XM which I'll have any day over Bluetooth.

Group texting w friends who have iphones is what is keeping me from using my Note 9 full time. Imessage really keeps people locked into iOS.

Also, the poor step counting on the Galaxy Watch is an absolute disgrace. The Apple Watch Series 4 really is a great fitness watch.

I saved $419 on the 64GB XS. My friend signed up with Freedom Mobile and he didn't want a new phone so I got it.

It's the only reason why I picked up the Gold.

Frankly, this is what the price should be really in the first time. I cannot understand the reasons (well I do, greed) what makes this worth what Apple is asking. LOL

Life is not bad. My daily drivers are...

SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 Blue 128GB
Huawei P20 Pro Twilight
64GB Apple iPhone XS 64GB Rose Gold

I wish they had a 128GB version of the Max. I want iTunes songs on there so I am concerned about the 64 GB. there are many pluses to an iPhone.

Wow he's generous. He could have got the phone and sold it to make some money :p

I did mention it but couldn't be bothered.

I'm keeping it and will give my Huawei P20 Pro to my girl.

see I got the xs max... tried to like it but I couldnt justify the price tag with what I got. a few hundred extra dollars for bigger screen real estate that I cant really customize without a jailbreak was a deal breaker
... a nice phone yes, but the note wins for me this year.

Not this guy. The first time I heard about someone plugging their ipod into a different computer and having it wiped clean, because it was not the registered iTunes account, I decided to never own any of that proprietary iBS.
Never have. Never will.

iPhones have plateaued. Actually the entire smartphone industry kind of has but I think Samsung at this point has more to offer than Apple does.

Went from the Ocean Blue 512GB Note 9 to the iPhone XS Max 512GB and now I'm back with the Midnight Black 512GB Note 9. Got bored of the iPhone real fast.
