Not really, and that's the problem. Because facts are true independent of us, they're not mine or his or yours. They're ours.

Just because something is fact or legal doesn't mean it is moral and OK. A contract is a contract... But that doesn't stop companies for being very vague and not upfront about their contracts.

For example... I have an ad saying I have a Pixel 2 XL for sale at a price of $850 and if you give me your Pixel XL in trade I'll give you $300 off the Pixel 2 XL price. But then when you go sign the deal you read in the fine print that the $300 off does not come off the $850 upfront and is actually a monthly rebate off the Pixel 2 XL monthly payments only as long as long as you financing it and you are making those payments. So if you pay off the Pixel 2 XL after a year (cause you want to upgrade) then you lose the remainder of those rebates, which amounts to $150.

This to me is not OK and my daughter got screwed because she didn't read that fine print... So cause this was kind of personal I wasn't in the mood to argue about it.

I never once said it is the morally right thing.. but you can't sue because it isn't morally right. That isn't a legal battle if the terms are upfront say "this is X and Y will happen" and you agree.

It sucks for all of us. That's why I usually do Best Buy deals since Best Buy takes the amount off right away versus bill credits. If I do go through Verizon I expect it to be bill credits and those crappy terms.

I never said they all do. I'm just saying if they tell you upfront how something it's hard to sue them for it. Otherwise I could sue for monthly phone charges.

I'm sure this one would be pretty hard to overturn in court, cause I'm sure Verizon's legal counsel has done their due diligence. But they're advertising about it is pretty shady and that's what really bothers me actually.

Their advertising? You mean literally everything on TV? They all have huge letter of "Get this phone for free! BOGO!" But yet the terms are bill credits. This isn't a Verizon only thing at all.. by any stretch.

I'm simply stating a fact. AT&T just ended a BOGO for iPhones.. was it fully paid off? Yes over 24 months....

Just stating how it is. Sorry it's personal for you and your daughter but to think it's a Verizon only thing is simply not true. Hell my parents on Sprint have a free iPhone 7 .. still has another year of bill credits before it's "free."

Just an FYI, I am returning my Panda P2 XL before returning my Moto Z Force that I was going to get a $300 Promotion Trade In. Now VZW has newTrade In promotions as high as 50% off.! Moto Z Force falls under that 50%, $425 > $300. And yes, I tried calling customer service to see if they can switch Promo and they couldn't.

It sounds like you guys learned a valuable lesson. Always read the fine print. Does it suck? Yeah. That's why I go for the Best Buy deals instead of the Verizon deals. Now you and she will be more informed in the future.
