Anyone that bought the Pixel 2/2 XL from Verizon ...

My son's phone (Nexus 5X) is on Fi now. He's been staying under 1 GB/month data-wise. I was hesitant moving my 6P over to Fi (from AT&T) because of my data usage is all over the place. Go figure my taking my number away from AT&T and moving it over to Verizon. My billing coming from three carriers is going to be screwed up for awhile.

If you count all the mobile I use .. I would say 150+ a month. On my actual VZW line it has been around 20-40 a month.

How many mobile devices do you have at Verizon? I'd have to say if I kept things where they are, it's $180 for two lines at AT&T, roughly $30 at Project Fi.

I have 9 on Verizon. It comes to around $33 a month/line.

I also pay a buddy $20ish a month for an unlimited hotspot on AT&T.

$33/line? All on unlimited? Why are the only two Verizon plans I can add are $80 and $90 then? I like your deal better!

I am on the Feb. Unlimited plan. The price dropped the more you added. Their new plans are more expensive.

I basically get all the benefits of "Beyond Unlimited" but at a cheaper rate.

Maybe you should add me to your plan. :D

So, my P2XL arrived yesterday, transferred the apps, and then I plugged in my AT&T SIM card. I haven't ported my number to Verizon yet. If I don't, I would still be obligated to use their plan, even though I'm unlocked...right?

Well you have to have their plan if you're paying the phone off through them.

So even though you’re paying for the Verizon plan can you still could you AT&T sim card And it work? I have a Verizon account for work and AT&T for my personal account so if I get a Verizon phone on a payment plan can I still use my AT&T sim?

I haven't ported the number over to Verizon yet, but I got calls just fine with the AT&T SIM. The Verizon version of the P2XL is unlocked like the Google version. The difference between the two is a couple of extra apps Verizon preloaded (ie: MyVerizon), and a locked bootloader. I haven't done much tinkering with the last two gens of phones I've had (Nexus 6P, Nexus 5), so I don't think I'll miss it much.

All Verizon phones are unlocked. My 2 xl is on Verizon and I went to Greece last week and threw in a sim from there and it worked great. Took another sim and put it in my BlackBerry PRIV and it worked fine in that phone also. Came back to US and popped the Verizon sims back in and they instantly were back like before.

You can put a SIM in from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. and it will connect up.

Even though you’re still paying for it on Verizon?
That’s cool...
Thanks so much for your help!

Very Important: Did you trade in a phone? If not this does not apply to you:

VZW got smart about trade-in credit. It is applied as a pro-rated monthly amount not as an upfront savings If you cancel your account with them, you forfeit the amount remaining uncredited.

So if you took advantage of a trade, you'll lose the value if you switch carriers 'cause you won't continue receiving that monthly credit.

I'm with VZW and got $200 in trade when I bought my OG XL w/ payments of $32/month. Included on my bill is an $8 credit for the trade ($200 over 24 months). Phone "costs" me $24/month. I still owe for half the phone's total value however, 'cause I "paid" $32/month towards it ie $760/2 = $380. IF I pay off the phone now, it'll cost me the full $380. If I continue to do payments, I'll be out of pocket $280 because of that $8/month credit. Over the 2 years, then, I will have paid full price on the phone BUT recouped the $200 trade value.

I am continuing to make my payments. I bought my 2 XL from Google so I did NOT have to pay off the OG XL had I gotten it from VZW.
I believe this is flat out stealing on Verizon's part... This is a phone you own and have paid for... In this trade in program they are technically buying the phone from you... So the fact that they think they don't have to give you the entire amount they owe you if you pay off your device early is not OK. I smell a class action lawsuit.

I don't smell anything. Carriers have done this for awhile. It's not illegal. They tell you up front that's what will happen. If you agree by sending in the phone you agree to the terms.

Let's not get carried away now with Sue this and that lol. It's a program with terms that are fully up front of how it is done. If they didn't disclose it that would be another story.

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine

So by your logic... Verizon said I get the Pixel 2 for $0. Just taxes. Can I sue them for later billing me monthly.. which they told me in the terms and agreements ?
