Anyone trying out DK28 yet?

I'm hoping there is a more improved update when Sprint sends out the official version. This is for sure buggy. I want to flash back, but I'll hold out a little longer. I'm basically just to lazy to re-instal all my apps again. haha

Since updating to froyo 2 days ago I noticed a few things. My gps no longer locks onto the satelites, I know there's the odin flash and reflash trick that seems to be working for some people. My hardware keyboard seems a lot laggier than it did when I was on 2.1. My phone has a hard time holding a 3g signal, when loading websites at about 80% my bars will drop from 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 to 1 then go back up in a reverse fashion. I tried the airplane mode toggle but that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix these issues?

I flashed to DK28, and everything seems to work fine. My GPS is getting a lock much faster than before, and the camera is working fine (love the flip to front-camera button).

Something weird: I used to be able to adjust the screen brightness by pulling down the drawer a bit, then sliding my finger left/right to dim/brighten the screen. That doesn't seem to work anymore.
Is this a setting that I'm just missing, or did they remove this incredibly useful feature?

I'm definitely sticking with DK28 for now.

I noticed this too, but I've actually gotten it to work twice - not sure how, but most of the time it doesn't work.

You should be able to re download your purchased apps from the Market - Google ties them to your account. As for MyBackup Pro, I have the paid version and the rooted features enabled, and it restores all my apps perfectly. Not sure what the limitations are of having the free version and not being rooted though.

i'm not for sure on that one either as i have only used titanium backup pro. i know that the difference between titanium backup free and titanium backup pro are: pro does automatic install of all your apps, and faster all around then the free version. maybe that is the difference between mybackup and mybackup pro.

also anybody have any questions with flashing feel free to send me a pm and i'll help ya out as much as i can.

It does work but seems to be very buggy. I have to try it several times. I never used it much but still would be nice if it worked better.

1) If your contacts are not synced with your GMail account, MyBackup should be able to back them up under the "Data" option. If your contacts are in your GMail then they will auto-sync after you wipe your phone.

2) Use MyBackup and back up the app you want to save settings on, and select "APP+DATA" - the APP is obviously the app, and the DATA is the settings (like high scores) of the app.

Hey ragnarokx,

I just tested it by deleting angry birds season and restoring from mybackup. it restored the app, but not the data. there isn't a "app+data" section, just "app" and "data". Could this be because i'm on 2.2.1? Any other alternatives?

side note: I haven't rooted before but if root will save my app data then I will give it a shot. even if i root and do titanium backup, will it still work since i'm backing up in 2.2.1 and i'm going to be restoring on 2.1?

much appreciated.

the Brightness setting works on mine. Just don't drag down the notification bar, but keep your finger next to the top. hope this helps :)

the difference between mybackup and mybackup pro is that mybackup is a 30 day trial of mybackup pro. That's it according to their website.

almost ready to follow [How to] Factory Restore, just need a way to backup app+data.

This is how I do it: Backup>Applications>Local (SD Card)>check the box of the app>OK>name your backup>APKs+DATA

after "name your backup" it goes straight to backing it up. it doesn't allow me to choose "apks + data". I downloaded it from the marketplace. Could it be that i'm on 2.2.1? any other suggestions?

I guess i'll purchase it and see. the backup functionality didn't work at all though. I'll let you know how it goes

So purchased it and it was still the same. nothing changed. It did show a greyed out option to back up app data but it was only for rooted users. I think i'm just going to wipe it. All I will be missing are my saved games for angry birds and i was going to go through and get all 3 stars anyways. time to flash for the first time. wish me luck :)

Success!!!
