Anyone trying out DK28 yet?

Anyone figure out a gps fix (if you didn't have it enabled when updating, it seems to lose it's capability)?

I have a stock version except for the fact that I did the one click root. So I too get the same error. Is there any way to update to Froyo without wiping everything out? Also, What would be the steps. Sorry if this has been covered. Thanks

Sadly, the link I posted no longer exists, but essentially, if you used one-click root, you need to restore your playlogo file. The one-click root process creates a backup called playlogo-orig which you will use.

i dont see why everyone is so worried about your apps?

its not a big deal to download them again. if you are worried. back them up using titanium.
when you restore make sure to retore user apps only. and make sure to click on only user apps - no data.
then go through and choose a couple apps which data you would like to keep, such as angry birds, or whatever, then click on it and restore the apps + data

im sorry but this has to be covered multipe times or go start a new thread so its easy to find

Just updated using the briefmobile method..
Has anyone tried the z4root with this? Or any other recommended root methods?
My only interest in root is remove bloatware and setup wireless tether...

I was rooted with z4root prior to the update and I am still rooted after the update.

Go to Applications>press the menu button>Edit>drag and drop to taste.

Awesome thanks, I can finally replace the contacts icon with something a little less redundant (since the contacts page is right there in the phone icon).

That's exactly what I do! I always hated that contacts icon in the dock - now it's been replace by GMail on my phone :D

If I do the update and want to get back to di18 I know I can use Odin but would I do anything different as far as the kernel? All the times I used it I just put the pit in and the rom file I have saved on my computer? What's the best way to update either update.zip or thru flashing the tar on Odin? Thanks

I don't know anything about going back to di18, but I don't think you will find any reason to go back. The update is working great. The phone is honestly better than ever. As for updating I did the update.zip method and it was as easy as can be. I was on stock 2.1, rooted with z4root.

I used GMail too.

Okay I'm so confused about how to get Froyo on my Epic. What do I need to do?
I have no idea what root, flashing, or roms are.
Anyway I can get the update without having to do any of this?

anybody else noticing that when you play any airplane games the accelerometer is like broke (even on racing games somewhat) but like in the atilt game it is fine? anybody else experiencing this?

The only bug I'm having is, that some of my sms aren't delivering. Which I wasn't having prior to update. I might try the process over, it's worth a try.

Go find the "epic 4g official froyo" article on android central .com. just look through the first two pages and you'll find it.

Dwnload thelink they give you. Rename it update.zip. put it on your sd card like any file. But make sure its not in a folder aka the root of ur sd card.
Reboot into recovery, and hit apply update.zip from sd card.

And ur done without rooting.

Hey guys,

What is the battery life like using froyo? I am on the latest baked snack rom. As far as I know, there isn't a froyo update for it yet. Not sure I'd be willing to make the switch if it means sacrificing the battery life I have now, which is pretty awesome.

Thank you so very much!

yeah im loving froyo but so far but i'm likewise having orientation issues, before my phone was fine but now the tiniest turn send it landscape? is this a common problem or did a setting get tweaked somehow? Not that big a deal its just EXTRA sensitive since the update. Also my battery life seems to be draining a bit faster with the same amount of usage and no news apps downloaded (besides flash) and no setting (to my knowledge) being changed.

I am having the opposite problem. It used to be very sensitive, now it is very sluggish. Sometimes wait 10+ seconds for it to rotate.

See thats the EXTRA WEIRD thing, now it is sluggish when i TRY to get it change, but if im not actively trying to go landscape it will! still not too HUGE an issue since im loving froyo i suppose its more than worth it

Yes, I am so happy that my "Wireless Network Locations" is working now and also the other features that I can deal with that.

Bluetooth Voice Dialing

Bluetooth voice dialling is huge for me...some forums say that it is still non-functional in DK28...Has anyone tried Bluetooth voice dialing yet?
