Anyone using a screen protector?

Ive been using spigen's since I took mine out of the box and from what I can tell I think the digitizer might be running into issues with the software. I dont think the screen protectors are causing things like the home and back buttons to not work, or inaccuracies in the digitizer itself. To me it seems like something in the software HTC can fix with a software update, but I could be wrong. I havent actually used mine without a screen protector.

It was the screen protector for me.....

I had issues with a screen protector on, not 'missed' the buttons once in last few weeks with it off.

I notice the same thing my phone was perfect bought a screen protector today 4/26/13 and i notice that the home and back button would have to be pressed harder... after taking it off i notice a huge difference with the responsiveness..

I've had HTC phones since the hero. I've never used a screen protector. It's a waste with the quality of glass these days. If you guys want to waste your money on one go ahead but on these phones they aren't needed.

I had the Zagg invisi-shield placed on the front and back and I tore it off after a week. As much as I would relish any added protection the shield could offer I just couldn't stand the feel of it while in my hands. I have a case for my One and end up taking that off periodically too.

The beauty and aesthetic of the phone is just too good to cover over in the name of 'protection'

I'm using a tech armor screen protector, I can't tell the difference with it, it's 99.9 % clear HD.

I'm using the screen protector that came with my Otterbox Commuter.

It's awesome and I can barely tell that it's on. The screen still looks great and feels just like it did before.

I also have a Spigen Ultra Thin case pre-ordered, which comes with a screen protector, but the Otterbox one feels so good I may not even bother replacing it.

hmm, i might try trimming one down so that it comes right above the HTC logo. What do you guys think?

I am also using Zagg HD and the buttons are not very responsive. I haven't taken it off yet bit I am going to go get another one and try to trim it so that it doesn't cover the buttons and give that a try.

I can't speak for others, but I believe it's the screen protector on mine.

Same here. Mine worked better without the screen protector.

No because I hate how most of the effect the responsiveness of the screen but I may get my phone wrapped for an extra layer of protection

I have one in, always feel a little safer. But the back button goes zonkers at times, bugs me.

What about getting a screen protector for a different phone that would be smaller length wise but the same width? No idea what phones screen protector to use but this could be a way around covering the home and back buttons without having to cut one?

For anyone with issues with the sensitivity of the capacitive buttons while using a screen protector, try this: Amazon.com: MediaDevil Magicscreen Screen Protector: Crystal Clear (Invisible) - HTC One (2 x Screen Protectors) - IMPORTANT: only compatible with the "HTC ONE", and not the other devices in the HTC One Range: Electronics

I was using a Spigen SGP Ultra Crystal and HATED it. It messed up the capacitive buttons, where it would usually take me 5+ times to hit it correctly. And the thing was a fingerprint magnet, so much that a light touch and there would be oils all over the screen.

Switched to MediaDevil (had used them before on a few iPhones, iPads, and the Nexus 7) and everything is great. Even though the protector is completely clear, it repels fingerprints much better! It's strange to say - but this protector just "feels" higher quality (it is perhaps a bit thicker but this could be a placebo effect). And, now I have zero problems with the buttons. Don't hesitate, try these!

I'll have to try the MediaDevil. I like everything about the Spigen except for what it dots to the capacitive buttons.

Zagg HD Shield. I always use Zagg Shields. No issues on the touch screen responsiveness for me. I have had a one x, one x+, both with Zagg shields and never had any issue.
Yeah, you cant beat the Zagg HD Shields. Im not the biggest fan of having anythng on my screen but with my job it's a must

I will never use a screen protector on this phone..It's a waste

Ive seen many say that....and then get a scratch on their screen. I just have the screen protector that came with my otterbox commuter. You can barely even tell it's there.

Do you know how hard it is to scratch this version of gorilla glass? unless you carry it in a bag with diamonds, sand, 24 pennies, 36 small pebbles and a socket set, I think you'll be ok

My stock screen protector that came with the Otterbox Commuter is not very good once you have some oil and grime built up on it now that I've had a chance to use it for a few days...and it seems with only a day of usage the screen needs buffing/cleaning. I don't mind having to clean it but I'm unsure of the overall viewing quality and/or the touch sensitivity with this particular screen protector. I have to use one as my job requires me to put the phone in either my pant pocket or mickey pocket. Sometimes with other items and my work environment can be pretty dusty...
