Anyone using Android Pay on their 6p?

It worked wherever those card readers with the wifi icon were. Those are still rare and with the advent of the new chip readers I think they'll get rarer yet.

Actually, I think it'll be the opposite. While new readers may not externally indicate they have NFC capability they actually do. As I indicated before, my local grocery store had replaced their card readers last summer or fall, there was ZERO indication that the new readers supported NFC. Last week they enabled mobile payments and now the screen displays the icon for tap and pay. Oddly, they have yet to start accepting the chip cards.

I use it pretty often, if im in a store that I know accepts it I will opt to use it more often then.... Never a problem using it and the payment works just fine. lol lots of cashiers are like how does that work thats neat. My credit cards all have the chip in technology now anyway so most likely im going to use the tap-n-pay option so might as well use my phone if I can.

I used it as often as I could on my old M8 and Galaxy Nexus phones. Haven't had much of an opportunity since I got my 6P this past Friday. Tried this afternoon but the readers in the company cafeteria wouldn't read them. Tried it just now on a vending machine that accepts tap and pay and my 6P registered just fine.

I have used it at Whole Foods a few times, but USAA seems to be the only credit card that will use it.

I went to try using it a second time at McDonald's yesterday and it was a big fail. When I held the phone over the reader, it asked me to set up Android Pay again! I just paid with my credit card but when I got to my car, I opened up Android Pay and clicked "yes" (or whatever) to set up Android Pay. The credit card I had set up was gone.

So, I set it up again. I'll try it again at some point but that just made me lose a little faith.

I've used it a number of times now. Whole Foods, Fresh Market, McDonalds and Panera Bread. Works really quick and easy each time. Quicker than taking out a credit card and more secure. I hope more merchants start using this technology, as I really like it.

I forgot my wallet at home and I was at school all day and I was able to get some food because I remembered that I had android pay. I had already ordered and my food was prepared when I realized I didnt have my wallet. The lady said they only take apple pay but to try it out and it worked. Since then I realized that I should keep android pay in case of emergencies.

This happened to me recently as well. It is great to have a back up to pay with when you are without your wallet.

What I think would be even better is if Android Pay could use NFC on my watch (MST on the watch would be even better still) so I wouldn't even need to remove the phone from my pocket. I could just tap or wave my wrist over the cc reader.

Use it wherever I see they accept it. Surprised the cashier at Rite Aid today as she had never seen anyone have the transaction go through.

Used it twice since November. Once to try and see if it works and once because I just wanted to use it to see if it was faster.

Android Pay is faster then those chip and pin reader here in the US. But chip and pin readers are so much faster in Europe. I would say faster then the slide method.

Android Pay is slower then the slide method. But with so many places not using the chip and pin, its faster to slide.

Plus, AndroidPay or ApplePay isn't accepted in as many places yet.

Yeah, did that at the grocery store - "oh, you used your phone?" Yup.

A couple weeks ago I had stopped at the CS desk on my way in to cash in a scratch-off ($1 winner), saw they now supported Android pay and asked the guy when it started, he told me just a couple days prior. Told him I'd go through his line so he could see it, but by the time I got to check-out he was on break.

I tried to use it today at work (we have a little market place thing in the building) but it didn't work. My buddies Samsung didn't work though either so I believe it may be disabled for that machine and not really an Android Pay issue. I will report back when I can test it out in a store :).

If Chase or Barclay join Android Pay, I'll start using it. It seems like it's still in the very early stages of adoption among merchants so I have not been in a hurry to get it setup.

Seems like I'm using it almost exclusively. A lot of places I got have the readers and either don't advertise it or realize they have them.

I've tried this several times since I wrote my original comment. I unlock the phone, hold it against the NFC scanner, and it inevitably asks me for my password (or pattern or PIN, whatever I have the Screen Lock set to). After I enter the password (or pattern or PIN), then I have to scan the NFC again to pay. It did not always do this, so I must have changed something in my settings or configuration that caused this, but I have no idea what.

Used it twice to just test out but that's it. I still prefer pulling out the wallet.

Still waiting for them to roll it out here in New Zealand! There's NFC terminals in most major chains and stores here too which is really frustrating! So keen to use my phone to pay for things at the supermarket :D

Use it all the time. Can usually hold the phone upside down with my finger on the sensor and that's it. But it is annoying to have to pull my wallet after I'm told that they don't support mobile payments..

I've been trying to use it more and retailers. It is simpler than grabbing the wallet, pulling out the debit card and swiping or inserting. Just unlock, tap and done!
