I'm not sure what it does that Google assistant does not do? Maybe you all have reasons for using it, would love to know your thoughts

I do use Bixxy. I wanted to setup Google Assistant as well, but it seems grated out for some reason.

I've tried it a few times and didn't find much use and more importantly hate hitting that button by mistake. Disabled for me .

I like being able to adjust settings easily. I did disable the short press of the Bixby button though and remapped it to Volume Down (I was always pressing the button when wanting to lower volume or take a screen shot).

Long press still lets me talk to Bixby though.

How did you remap the Bixby button to something else? I thought that couldn't be done?

I'm using the stock message and keyboard and Bixby is actually really good at reading and replying to messages by voice for me. Gets to phone settings better than google assistant also

I use Bixby often to start up my bluetooth and map for driving. Also for screen brightness adjustment etc.

Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't taken the time yet to familiarize myself with Bixby.

I also use it all the time. I use it more than the Google assistant. I have several mulit actions set up so I just say one thing and it completrs several action. I really like having the dedicated button although I do unintentionally hit it sometimes.

I don't have a Samsung phone at the moment but when I did I didn't use it. That would be the case if I had my S9+ as well.

Hit the button by mistake several times. Disabled the button. I've used bixby voice a few times, it's failed each time. So no, I don't use bixby.

I have used the speech to text on the stock keyboard with it, and that is quite good. It was matching me pretty spot on. Otherwise I haven't used Bixby at all, but I am curious about trying to set up some of the command actions with it. I have never accidentally triggered Bixby by the button, but I have been using a pretty thick case that requires firm button pushes.

I started trying to use Bixby to send texts. Why in the world does it send texts to the contact's work phone number when there's also a mobile number listed? It seems to pick the first number in the contract entry no matter how hard I try to get it to send to the mobile number. It's ponderous that it doesn't default to the mobile number.

You can chose what number to use via voice command like this: text Mike on mobile.
Or if you save his mobile number as Home then just say: text Mike on home.
You can change the default number for a contact by long pressing on it and tapping on set as default.

I don't use it.

Don't really see the point of using any "assistant" app, really.

Not really keen on talking out loud at my things. Prefer to do that with actual people.

My wife did buy an Amazon Echo last Christmas. The only thing I've asked it is "why are my dogs weird?"

It said it didn't "know that one".

I don't know either, sister.
