Anyone wireless tether their PS3?

I use the wireless tether app for root users and my PS3 can't see the wifi connection from the optimus. I previously used a Evo and Verizon thunderbolt and they both worked perfect. Is this an issue with LG phones or what?

I don't have a Playstation 3, but I do have an Xbox 360. I use the wireless hotspot on my phone to play on xbox live. Most of the time I have a great connection without lag.

I used the hotspot widget it works with ps3, for some reason I have trouble with wireless tether app.

Is the hotspot widget the one built into the phone that you have to pay for? I did have that for a month and it worked fine. I just don't understand why the wireless tether app works on many other phones but not the optimus S to tether a PS3.

I know going through a laptop is an option but I would prefer just using the phone.

Just found some info that he PS3 can't see ad-hoc connections, only AP(access point). The optimus stock kernal/rom must only let apps broadcast in ad-hoc. Would a custom rom or kernal make this work? Thanks
