Anyone With Preorder Experience through VZW?

If you have a history of paying your bill on time, you have the option of paying on a CC or having it added to your bill.

I had the option, but chose to go ahead and pay with my debit card right away.

i've done it in store most of the time because depending on when the phone comes out, i could have almost a whole month before i have to pay, which would give time for the rebate to come in the mail.

still debating on if i want to do it online or get it in store..

If I wasnt for the fact that I had to use my wife's account I would have got it in store. When ordering through the store you are giving the salesperson a commisson which will put or keep money in the community. Ordering online does no such thing for the community.

Damn it. I even work with verizon everyday, and I didnt even think of this. I was so excited to order the phone that I never stopped to think about it. Thanks, now Im a little pissed at myself for buying online.

i only know because i had to pretend to be a friends dad to add her as an Authorized user on their family plan because her dad didn't want to spend 5 minutes on the phone...

I do it online, because I don't have to wait for the rebate to come in the mail - the rebate is instant!

Where is this information coming from? If that's true, wouldn't it just be best for everyone to buy from BB because the phone would be cheaper? (I'm talking about the gift card, of course.)

When the HTC Imagio came out, I was the first at the store when they opened on release day..and they had ONLY ONE UNIT in stock, that is all the factory sent them was ONE! .well I walked out with it...But I pre-ordered the Incredible. I heard the release date has been moved to Sunday the 25th now.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm kinda confused on all the pre-order hype via VZW and BB.
What's the main reason to do it? Is it fear that if you go to the local VZW/BB stores on the 29th, people are afraid it will be sold out?
Also, is there anything "better" to preorder or buy at a BB store than over VZW/store? I know BB takes the NE2 $100 credit off the price on the spot so no stupid UPC code to send in, but otherwise, any "better" reason to do it?

Dunno, I'm just thinking I'll go to my local VZW store the morning of the 29th and just buy it there?

Anyone have any luck getting their NE2 discount early? I'm only 3 months, but don't want to wait that long. I just got turned down by a CSR. I even threw in the lure of upgrading a regular line to a smartphone (adding data plan), but no bite...

They generally don't move discounts up, but they will move upgrades up. So GL hopefully if you keep calling you may be able too get it moved.

Correct. You can use the gift card on the phone or anything else, but the number on the card essentially works as your slip to prove you preorder so if you spend it on something else before then, KEEP THE CARD!

Well I sent an email explaining the situation, being polite, and explaining the win-win situation of them getting a data plan and I get the NE2 3 months early. I also mentioned that I have never missed a payment and have been a customer for 10 yrs and they agreed. I received a voice mail (they tried to call) telling me they have moved my NE2 up so that I could preorder 2 Droid Incredibles. Preorder is in with free overnight shipping. Yay!
