Anyone without a case?

Yeah no issues at all with the Dbrand ..just lift it lightly when you remove and put back on....I left it out of case for a full day before I used the case ....

Not surprised to hear that. I've used both DBrand and Google's fabric cases on my 3XL. DB's skins are seriously adhesive if applied and cured properly. And the fabric cases are designed to be delicate on the glass backs with the alcantara inner lining, so they ahoild coexist just fine of you install both carefully and gently.

Finally after a long of deliberation got this in sale today

Gotta hand it to Google, they sure do make some good looking cases

Absolutely. These OEM's persist in using this fragile and heavy material as opposed to something else like polycarbonate or rubber or even ceramic.

It really is form over function.

Is expect ceramic to be just as bad since it's naturally a brittle material, but it might be stronger. I was curious how well those Essential phones held up.
I recently ordered a 3a for the missus, and am curious to feel the difference between it and my 3XL. I've heard good things, and really, plastic can be done in such a way that it feels premium and is less prone to damage like glass.

On a related topic, remember when Motorola made phones with Kevlar and ballistic nylon backs? Man, those were some cool designs!

Ceramic is a lot more drop resistant than glass but it's also heavier

You get reception issues with a skin and case ?
There's no way the skin and case (even combined) pose more of an issue towards cell reception than the metal frame of the phone itself.

Polycarbonate phones like the KEY2 LE and Pixel 3a/XL should (and do?) get better cell reception by design because the signal just flows right through that plastic.

That is why I asked:)
