Anyone working on rooting the new GB OTA?

I survived a few months because the Evo was new to me. I rooted the Hero because it was unbearably slow with stock software and had dialer issues. Root fixed that and allowed me to stretch out the life of the Hero while I was unemployed. Jumping to the Evo gave me greatly improved hardware, so my annoyances with the stock software seemed bearable for a while, even though I knew I'd want something better sooner than later.

It took a few hours after running the GB OTA before I even considered that it might have impacted my option to root. Now I'm miserable.

I read that there is gonna be another software update coming out soon to fix the issues with the current release. Not that it makes me feel better about my root, but the dang voicemail issue and netflix issue should be solved. Im not gonna update it tho OTA til I find out if there is a dev working on a fix for the most current version. I need root not a fixed version of stock GB.

Amen to that. I probably check here 10 times a day (well probably more) hoping to see anything promising! I'm going to have some free evenings coming up next week. Even when I bought this Evo in March, I figured I'd be rooting it this coming week if I hadn't already. What an idiot.

I am with you. This is killing me. This thing is no more than a Moto Razr without root. :'(.

EXACTLY! I rooted all my buddys droids and stole those ginger souls. NOW I GET THIS AND ITS NOT POSSIBLE! I am the laughing stock of all my buddys. :-$

Damn, I'm in the same boat. took my phone in to sprint to have the power button fixed and the "nice" service guy upgraded me to ginger for Free!! F$*@in idiot!!!

I almost bought a 2.2 on CL just to root and sell mine for $200. I figure that CL will be flooded with them next week when the 3D comes out.

I'm in the same boat as jondevere. Took my rooted EVO in for a damaged power port.
Pro: Got a freakin brand new EVO out of the retail box. Cool!
Con: Jack@$$ tech downloaded the 2.3.3 OTA. FML.

I got sick of my optimus s messing up all the time so I got Sprint to reset my upgrade status so I could get the Evo 4g. got it yesterday and it is the update version. Ha I rooted my optimus zvd so easily I thought this too would be a breeze. So sad....So sad!!!

Folks over in the Shift forums are in the same boat. Doesn't seem like any progress is being made.. Fortunately I didn't upgrade but it would nice to be able to send my device in since all my lights aren't working.
