anything new coming to att soon?

AT&T needs an EVO-like phone and they need to upgrade the network to 4G!

AT&T has had an HSPDA+ network up and running for years now. I know it's not 4G, but T-Mo seems to think it is and advertises it as such. lol
All AT&T needs to do is release phones that actually utilizes it.

I also am awaiting HTCs release of a high end phone for AT&T. Currently my main phones are a Streak and an Aria (busted screen tho) and I've a Magic around here somewhere............
I wont buy a Samsung. (too much bad history with them and their phones)
I refuse to buy an LG ANYTHING. I remember back before they were "Life's Good" and they were known as "Lucky Goldstar, They have been making shoddy and cheap products since I was a kid and it seems they still do.... but their marketing skills sure have improved. "Life's Good" huh? How easily people forget. lmao
Moto seems to only make gimiky wierd products for AT&T while they make monster devices for everyone else..... I don't get it.

Come on HTC. Make me proud of you again. I've been buying your products since back when you made them for everyone else before you started putting your actual name on them. The BlueAngel was one of my favorite phones ever. =)

I also have been with ATT since 1999, and their network is the best around my area as well. I have the Captivate *since launch* and love this phone, while it is not perfect even with a UCJI6 Froyo leak but it is a great phone! I was worried about getting the Samsung Captivate because I had some issues with a Samsung Sync when they first came out, horrible battery life, rf reception was horrible. When I got the Captivate, I was blown away, better rf reception then my Bold 9000, similar battery life to my bold 9000 and better user experience then the bold! Sure I wish the htc desire or even the desire hd would come out but for now the Captivate is an awesome phone to own even with it's lagginess at times but it has never dropped a call like friends of mine who has the iPhone!

Similar battery life to the Blackberry Bold 9000? You can not seriously be making that statement. You're comparing a phone with half the CPU processor (uses way less battery) and less than half the screen size (uses way less battery) to the Captivate, and saying they have similar battery life. I don't believe that one bit. It just wouldn't make any sense, logically.

Blackberry's have been known for their keyboards and excellent battery life. However, it is a trade-off. You get fantastic battery life but a much smaller screen and a crappy processor. With the Cappy, you get a huge, brilliant, beautiful 4" screen with a snappy 1GHz processor, but much less battery life compared to the Bold.
It is just a known fact when you're transferring from one phone to the other, don't you think? Or am I wrong?

By the way, I have a Bold 9000 right here in my lap. :) Wish I had a Cappy too...but, would rather wait for a high-end HTC android device to hit AT&T, which is increasingly seeming like just a dream that will never come every day lol.

the Bold 9000....sigh the good old crackberry days.

I have been on att for far too long and as soon as our contract is up will be moving to the big red or possibly even sprint. I've had it waiting for froyo for my captivate and their lack of offerings. The one thing I will give att is great customer service and I'm willing to give a little on that for a wider selection of great phones.

I've been on AT&T for nearly 6 years now and I love it. Their phones are decent (because I'm not a complete phone snob, like the Droid and iPhone collective can be) and their customer service is top notch. For the average user they have great plans, saving 85% of users money on a data plan by having it tiered and charging those data hogs more because they should be. I've never been to a place where Verizon (and my brother and lots of friends are on Verizon) has better service. So since I chose a phone that gets good reception (read: not the iPhone) I have no problem. Even on 3G.

As for new phones, hopefully the rumors are true and the iPhone will be heading to Verizon. That would make me superbly happy.

Well as much as I used my Bold 9000 and now even more use with the Cappy, They have rather similar battery life. The Bold 9700 had better battery life then the 9000! Trust me my battery life I was still charging daily on both phones even while at work, just the bold would charge faster overall! Trust me when you are talking to people via phone, text messages and even bbm on the Bold 9000, the battery life is not as great as compared to the Curve 8300/8310. 3G kills the battery life on the bold 9000 but the Cappy is a bit similar in my experience maybe a bit less but overall it is not as bad as some people think. I use my phone a lot and I charge it at work and when it gets low, but no complaints here, I can probably squeeze more battery life out of it if I would just dull the screen down but I like it bright lol and the camera is even better as well on the cappy! So depending on your usage, the Bold can drain the battery pretty quickly especially if you are using 3G instead of just 2G!

Jonneh to be fair, I have noticed that it seems as if most Android devices I have either owned or have had my hands on seem to do a better job of power management when you're IN a phone call. Just an observation I have made.

Wow! Color me corrected, haha. I can't believe it, but, that's pretty awesome if true! Power management can do amazing things, huh. And, I failed to mention (doh!) that I use my Bold 9000 on 2G...which is pretty important information to include, sorry about that! I've had this phone for over 2 years, so, as soon the day AT&T finally allowed us to use 2G-only on this phone, I've done that and very rarely ever switch back to 3G, so, I forgot to include this information. It, of course, makes a huge difference.

Thanks for being so kind and informative guys. Now I can't wait to make the switch even more with this new information of battery life being somewhat similar to the phone I already have. Just...still waiting on a high-end HITC android device to hit AT&T lol.
